And my Google review will be this: ?Nicks Seafood Restaurant? Freeport, Fl. Just dropped Ben off at the VPS airport. He?s going... to be in Chicago for over a week. Andy and I are taking the other way back home, avoiding 98 & Destin traffic?. We were bothhungry and Andy kept complaining. Here we are in Freeport?. We?re at a very southern diner/bar with a very Alabama feel? Thetype where severs have heavy southern accents ?. A place where everyone in the bar stops and stares and wonders who you are, andwhy you?re even there. A place that feels like a scene from the movie ?Sweet Home Alabama? ?.A far cry from where Ben is headingback; home. Is this risky? Not sure. Are the gator bites good here? Are the hush puppies? We?ll see?. But here we are. How canthis be so close to the tourism? The shining lights of Baytown Warf? The magazine worthy spots of Seaside and Aly?s Beach? Yet,here I am. And I?m concluding that ive just had the best Hush Puppies I?ve ever had? the most flaky, fresh, hot fish sandwichwith a perfectly toasted bun which was paired with that kind of tarter sauce you?d want. Would Gordon Ramsay be upset? No.Because this is the kind of place you find on the show ?Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives? with Guy Fieri?. At least that?s myexperience so far. You don?t get this kind of fresh fish in the suburbs of Chicago. You WILL get a pizza made correctly, and youwill also get the perfect hotdog with no ketchup. But you won?t get the view of the bay water, or the view of the several pigswondering outside the windows like we are now. Call me crazy, but just like Anthony Bourdain, I appreciate every wild dive andadventure ?? He once wisely advised us, ?Eat at a local restaurant tonight. Get the cream sauce. Have a cold pint at 4 o'clockin a mostly empty bar. Go somewhere you've never been?? ?and THAT is what we do. ???? Read more

Very cool place. Food is good. Definitely the old Florida vibe. They had live music when we were there. I had the Cobia and... it was delicious. Read more

Went here last week with my family. View was great and fish seemed fresh. The waitress was nice. That's why I have 2 stars. The... issues are, 1, the portions. My husband and dad got the shrimp sandwich. There were only 4 small shrimp... a huge roll and 4small shrimp. The fish sandwiches my mom and I got were OK. A bit bland. My daughter's burger was ok. Issue 2, the price. Thatplace is crazy expensive for the meal we were served. Issue 3, the place was felt like a refrigerator inside. Another customerlikened it to a meat locker. She was not wrong. We were FREEZING. I had to get a sweatshirt from the car and I was stillfreezing. Our food was cold by the time it made it out to our table, not because I feel that it sat around for too long. But, because it was so cold. We couldn't get out of there fast enough. We definitely won't be going back. Completely underwhelmingexperience, with a side of hypothermia. Read more

Great spot to stop by for some food and a drink. Fried green tomatoes are good and they always have a special for the day. You... can always was on the beach before or after you eat. Great place if you're trying to stay away from the crowds of Niceville ordestin. Read more

Freshly cooked and tasty! Bit pricey but worth it. Would love to see the annual bonfire. Loved the pigs on the beach!

This place is small, I?ve driven by it 100?s of times. Today we went between lunch and dinner. I would imagine it gets pretty... packed during peak hours. The service was excellent. The food was good. I had the fried shrimp with green beans and cheesegrits. There was actually salt in the cheese grits! My bf had the seafood platter with fries and cheese grits, they both camewith hush puppies. The platter was $30 but piled high with shrimp, fish, scallops, stuffed blue crab. It came with oysters aswell but he asked for double scallops. The view is fantastic. It?s out of the way for us, about 22 miles but We will definitelybe back. Read more
