Very dark atmosphere, old fashioned decor. There were a number of us, we were given two waitresses. One seemed overwhelmed while... the other was on her game, quick and attentive- her side had their food together while the other side waited for missing itemsor corrections to mixed up drink orders. Fried Mushrooms were a HIT, crunchy and flavorful on the outside moist and tender onthe inside?I really can?t say if I will be back or not. Read more

Usually great service. However today the waitstaff was rude and seemed overwhelmed. (They didn't appear that busy..been there... when they are much busier) We ordered coffee and water with no ice. Received empty coffee mug and water with extra ice. Said shewould be back with coffee. In a few minutes when she returned with coffee we asked again for water with no ice. She said quote"then you will just have to wait". Snatched the glass from the table and walked away with no apology or kind word. We areregular customers but felt it best to just leave. We put a few $ on the table to pay for for the coffee which we didn't touchand left. Read more

This place is so good! Their portions are very big, and their prices are great. The service was really good, which I'm big on.... The food is definitely homemade. You can tell the biscuits are from scratch. I got French toast, and they actually soak theirFrench toast before cooking it, instead of most places that do a quick egg flip, throw it on the grill and call it French toast. The eggs are real eggs, and they cooked them how I asked. My son was happy to see real eggs, because the carton eggs just aren'tthe same. My husband got a burger with fries and onion rings, and it was delicious too! Next time we arr in town, we willdefinitely be visiting again. Read more

Nice, cozy, home-like place where you can tell the locals likes to hang out too, which is always a good sign for us tourists.... The food was quiet decent. Sweet potato fries was a hit among my kids and they don?t even like sweet potatoes! It was a bit moreburned than my liking but overall not a big deal. The restaurant has too many leaks - parts of the building was dark and wetfeeling, along with constant rain water drops dripping through the ceiling, hence the 3 star. Will come back! Read more

There were some issues with breakfast, but I?m giving 5-stars for a few reasons: 1. Freeport needs more local businesses.... Goodness, this place is seriously economically depressed. No doubt City Hall is trying but they need a serious injection ofactivity. (So I want to support Sweet T?s any way I can.) 2. The food was very good. I had an omelette with ham and cheese, abiscuit, hash browns and a side of grits. The hash browns were standard shredded potatoes, but everything else was delicious.Grits were PIPING hot. (As was omelette.) 3. The service was friendly and helpful. The issue really was about their beingshort-staffed and the delay in getting our food. I think there were a total of two women trying to hold down the entire diningroom. So we waited ~30 minutes for breakfast. Then my wife?s toast and bacon was cold. They quickly corrected this. SinceCOVID, restaurants are having a helluva time staying in business because of being short-staffed and other reasons. So pleasevisit Sweet T?s, buy a lot of food and ? for now ? bring a good conversation partner. Even your wife. (I hope she doesn?t readthis.) Read more

In our daily life we are always in a rush. I really enjoy to be in a place where you can take your time to see the whole menu... and ask for five more minutes, without feeling presion to leave the table ASAP for next customer. Well, let me tell you, indowntown Freeport there is this restaurant. From the moment you enter you feel relaxed. The building looks old but clean, decoration has many authentic historical items on its walls. Even our table had some old newspapers pictures from Freeporthistory. The menu is American food with a lot of sea food on it. We went during the evening and had the opportunity to try thedinners. The indecision made me order the trio dinner which includes shirmp, cat fish, a stuffed crab and hush puppies. Andevery dinner is served with house salad, a choice of potato and a vegetable .The fish and the shrimp can be fried or grilled, Ipicked the grilled and I picked the baked potato and squach. When I see the amount of food I thought I won?t finish it. Butevery thing was tasteful so I finished all. But overall my favorite was the fish. My husband had the Rybeye and he also finishall of it. When I wanted to try it there was only a bone in his dish. I bet it was favoulous. Definetely we will come back andtry the breakfast next time, and dessert?s of course. Read more

For cute small diner. Very friendly staff who greet you as soon as you walk in the door! Clean restaurant that has a southern... home style twang to it. I ordered the pretzel chicken and the ham and cheese omelet with a side of sausage gravy. It was verydelicious. Definitely would recommend dining here if you?re from out of town. Read more
