Thanksgiving noon meal. Outside temperature is 50 degrees and they have the door propped open. Customers sitting inside with... coats on. Our sever brought my glass of ice water spilled all over my wife's purse. Ordered the turkey dinner, came out quicklytoo bad food was warm. Didn't send it back. Just ate it. Paid with cash and no tip. Dining room was cold food was warm. Nobodycame around and asked how my meal was, because I would have told them. Read more

Alright, so way back when my family and I used to frequent Village Inn restaurants. Unfortunately they closed the ones in my... area and it appears they tried to do the same in Fremont. So someone went above and beyond and bought the restaurant and namedit "The Village Inn". The food was great, tasted just like it used to back in the day. I am definitely going to be returning andgetting more pie again soon. Awesome remodel and great location. Read more

Will never go back to 'The' Village Inn after last evening's visit. First, why mess with a good thing? Why??? Yes, the place... needed remodeling and updating but they have changed a familiar, comfortable, and reasonably priced menu with 'First Watch' typeof breakfast foods and totally messed up the vibe. Let me tell you what went wrong. This is my opinion so if you don't like it,go to 'The' Village Inn. Otherwise... Ordered the 'VIB' and country potatoes are no longer the hot squares from before. Theyare regular and Sweet potatoes mixed together. Not everyone likes sweet potatoes. I told the waitress I would just pick out thesweet ones but lo' and behold, you can't visually discern which is which. On top of all of that, stone cold. I mean they werenot even room temperature. I pushed them to the side and she asked what was wrong, I told her and she offered hash browns, Ideclined. Next up, the over easy eggs. Now, I know over easy has a risk but when clear fluid runs out of the whites, it meansIT IS NOT COOKED. I sent them back rather than run the risk of getting sick. She looked at me like I had two heads. Theywanted to comp me for my meal. I refused out of pride. I ordered and I should be responsible. So they took 50% off my bill whichended up at $6.48; I generously gave $12.00 and the rest went to the server. They absolutely ruined this place and again, Iwill never, ever go back there. Serve HOT food and stop trying to become a 'fine dining' establishment for breakfast. Read more

Tonight I had one of the best Cobb salad, excellent side of corn and a memorable slice of triple berry pie. Excellent corn? Yes!... This corn was roasted on the cob seasoned with a little bit of garlic and presented as you can see below. Some of the best cornI have ever eaten. It was fresh, sweet, and corny. The Cobb salad was made with farm fresh ingredients; a far cry from the Cobbsalads offered in the big cities. If you look at the picture you’ll see one chicken breast; What makes these chicken breastsdifferent is that they were roasted on one side. That’s a gourmet technique. I didn’t ask if the triple berry pie was bakedin the house, but it was richly flavored. I had the pie heated which is why it slumped. I like to play with my food and tooksmall bites of the pie to see if I could tell the difference between the boysenberries, raspberries and the blueberries. To myastonishment I could tell when I breathed. By the way, my compliments to my focused and charming Server (Sydni) whose insightfulsuggestions made this meal all the more memorable. Stop in for breakfast and we were very pleasantly surprised at the options of the menu and all the fancy coffees that they now... make make. We are also very pleased to see that they squeezed their own Orange juice. What a treat! The service was awesomeawesome and it was just a good experience all around. Read more

Just reopened after remodel. Not to busy just very understaffed. Had to wait a bit but no big deal. Very nice looking. Smell... new. Our waitress was having issues with order pad. Still some kinks to work out. Food was AMAZING. Best hasbrowns I have everhad. Waitress never really checked on us but other waitresses did. The issue was when we went to pay. Never got a ticket. Stoodat checkout for a long time. Hostesses couldn't find it in system. Got our waitress who had to get someone a drink refill, thensomeone soup, then had to try to find French silk pie. Still waiting to pay. Finally cones up no apology but keeps talking toother waitress. She can't find our ticket, has to find someone to help her. Finally Pay and she doesn't know how to printreceipt. Finally get receipt and noticed she added a $5.90 tip to my bill. Had to try to get that fixed. Wanted to charge mycard twice and I wait for refund. Nope not going to happen. Manager was able to get it figured out. Read more

Friendly environment. Seating us in a booth, with 2 large people. Ordered our drinks n food. Waited foreeeever for our food,... only to be cold. Cornbread dressing was a small amount. Servers were very friendly. Loved the method of paying--right atyour table on a small machine. Placed your card in machine, filled in your information, amount of tip, n sign. Very simple neasy. This VI had good food before the remodel and now the food is GREAT! I came in with my mother and she had the chicken bacon... avocado sandwich and I got the pot roast meal. Server was attentive but not overbearing. Food was cooked well and the bread forthe sandwich was perfectly grilled, crispy on the outside and not greasy. The little side salad we got was simple yet sosatisfying. Fries with my mothers sandwich were light, crispy, and well seasoned. Well done! Read more
