Was a great place to grab a drink, bar tenders were very nice an will definitely go back.
My husband and I sat at the bar last night for drinks and a quick appetizer (the calamari was very tasty and left us wanting for... more) and we?re served by a very warm and friendly bartender eager to help us decide on drinks. He even offered a sample oftheir mango blonde IPA which was alone a classy move. When I returned home later that night, I noticed I had misplaced a $50bill and so I thought I?d call this morning in the slim to zero chance someone picked it up off the bathroom floor or wherever Imay have dropped it (?it?s the last time I use my bra as a wallet) and handed it over to management. I believe that breed ofhumankind(ness) still exists, and so I left a message. A few hours later, I received a call from Steve, the owner of theStandard, as a courtesy call to let me know that alas, no $50 bills made there way to lost and found. ???? That aside, hedidn?t want (my own error) the experience to tamper our impression his bar and invited us back to enjoy a gift card on thehouse. Completely taken aback by his second act of generosity, I told him that was completely unnecessary but he again urged usto return and enjoy some complimentary drinks on him. I thanked him, hung up, floored. Last night may have marked our maidenvoyage to the Standard, but I can tell you that coupled with the quality of our food and cocktails, the awesome and attentiveservice provided by our bartender, and then Steve?s beyond the call of good business offer, there is nothing Standard about thisbar and restaurant WHATSOEVER and we WILL definitely be back for more. If you?re looking for a good time in a lively yet cozyatmosphere and want to support deserving local restaurants in Fresno, you must try The Standard on for size!!! First impressions, it was a good spot for younger singles to go dance and hang out. I don't really enjoy clubs as much anymore... but this one was okay. Nothing really impressed me about this place. Again, this just wasn't my style of place but it was okay.If you're going just to club with friends then it could be a fun spot to dance but not talk and lounge. It has an ok ambiance,but they can probably update the lamp shades and drapes. HA! Probably more of a younger crowd place to hang out, if they canrecognize the music playing from back in the 2000's. Several other things I didnt like: 1. They charged way too much forbottles that you can't take with you even if you don't finish it. 2. You can rent a table but it's tiny and is easily overrunby strangers in the club. 3. The music was old and the dj didn't transition well between songs. 4. They don't even make a bigshoutout when they bring out bottles, there were just two people shining lights and we couldn't even record because by the timewe realized they were there, it was already over. 5. This place was great, I had the Chicken Piccata along with the Boulevardier cocktail. These items were wonderful. Well cooked... and beautifully served along with the drink. They are managing COVID well with there accountability of everyone wearing a maskand having sanitizer at the desk. And they ensure 6ft distance apart from one another. The service I might add was flawless aswell. My partner didn't like there drink and was afraid to ask, but the waitress was able to see and had no hesitation withasking them if they would like another drink. We stopped by after 10pm to check it out. Not my cup of tea since I love to dance from first song to last: there's no dance... floor and it gets super crowded. The DJ tonight kept switching from one genre to the next after one song, so not great fordancing and I know it's a lounge, but it didn't even have that vibe either, lol.
