Dog friendly! We tried Blue Water despite the 3.5 stars. The food was pretty good (bangers and mash, clams and zucchini cakes).... Definitely deserving of a better rating. We sat out on the deck with our dogs. Our server brought out fresh water for themwhich was very much appreciated. We had take-out for dinner as well (cod tacos, upside-down pineapple cake, chocolate lava cakeand ice cream). Food was ready fast and was really good! Read more
Service was normal. Atmosphere normal for a sports bar. Food was exceptionally bad. $25 for Alfredo with frozen veggies,... literally the crinkle cut carrots you find in the bag. Not sure I believe "island markup" when it's pasta + frozen veggies +jarred Alfredo sauce. Hawaiian chicken sandwich was fine, but also price gouged. The calamari was shaped like large french friesso no clue if it was actually squid- very off putting. $100 for one beer, pantry + frozen pasta, frozen calamari, and a chickensandwich. This was one of the only place open past 8pm on a Friday night though, so make sure to plan ahead and adjustexpectations if visiting the island for the first time, or just cook for yourself. There should be a sign in front of the restaurant the reads ?DOG FRIENDLY?. This place would?ve received 5 stars if it weren?t... for the dogs!! My son and I wanted to dine outside to enjoy the view but unfortunately we couldn?t because he has a fear of dogsand there were 2 outside. I became grossed out when I saw dander and hair in the air from the big dog after it was shakingvigorously. The food is delicious, the service was fast and good, the atmosphere was very comfortable and the bathroom wasclean. The restaurant is across the street from the ferry station and whale touring boats. If you don?t mind dining with someoneelse?s pets then this is a great place to visit! Read more
Don't expect fast service, but the servers have been great. The view is great and easy to grab a meal before getting on the... ferry. They are more expensive than the neighboring restaurants, but offer a 10% discount to first responders. I had the bisonburger and had to go back so my son could try it during his visit! My wife had the fish tacos and coconut shrimp, but said theywere just okay. She wouldn't order them again. Read more
We weren?t initially going here, however are glad we did. Quick over view of the negatives - they didn?t have draft beer?... Hopefully that was only a temporary issue - but was a surprise when I went to order. The food however was great! We had a salmonsandwich and a crab and shrimp cake sandwich which were so yummy. The avocado aoili makes the sandwich. Service additionally wasgreat, prompt and very attentive to our needs. Will certainly be back if we head back to Friday Harbor on future trips. Read more
We had a quiet off season dinner at the Blue Water Bar and Grill in Friday Harbor on San Juan Island at the end of Nov 2021. Our... entrees were a salad with crab cakes which were flavorful and delicious and also sashimi yellowtail that was to die for. Themenu choice was very decent and you can download it online. There was a full bar but we imbibed in wine only. Over 3 days we didnot eat at the same place twice but if I had, it would have been here. It was late, quiet, off season and I needed the downtime. This was the place to relax. I did not sit in the wonderful bar area, which is rare for me, but they had one! I will nexttime. Read more
We came as a large group for the weekend. The customer service was amazing and the food even more so. Ambiance is key and we... all had a fabulous time. My pasta was divine and practically melted in my mouth. Read more
