I love Mexican Food so I?m always trying new restaurants! This is by far the best Mexican restaurant I?ve ever eaten at! I?m... from Mississippi now but when I lived in Oklahoma I always would eat here whenever I was in Texas! The food, the restaurantitself, waitstaff are all top notch! If you don?t eat cheese and you actually want your chicken soup to have chicken in it, don't eat here. The staff is completely... incompetent, especially the hostess with the bushy eyebrows. She cannot take a simple order of chicken soup without cheese.First off, what authentic Mexican restaurant puts cheese in chicken soup?! None. The chicken soup at this place will dump cheeseinto the soup which then lumps down at the bottom like a big wad of phlegm! It's disgusting, but even if I specify NO CHEESEPLEASE, this same girl will either forget to communicate my request to the cook, or the cook doesn't understand NO CHEESE meansNO CHEESE. This cheese issue has happened 4 times on 4 separate occasions. So on the 4th time, I ordered the chicken fajitatacos and again... I get home with shredded chicken tacos smothered in CHEESE! I call the restaurant but the girl who took myorder tells me that isn't her problem and I should've complained to the manager and not her (although she's the only person whocould connect me to the manager since she's the one answering their phone)! Not only that, she also had the audacity to hang upthe phone on me multiple times as I tried speaking to the manager! Had it not been closing time and in the middle of athunderstorm, I would've gone back in there to speak with the manager, but he finally, picked up. I explained the issue and herefunded my credit card which still didn't make it any better because I had nothing for dinner. Fast forward a week later.Husband offers to get dinner from La Escondida. He comes back with "chicken" veggie tortilla soup... no cheese this time, exceptthey forgot the chicken in the chicken soup! The server's name on the ticket is Uber U. I give up! I genuinely feel sorry forthese people. I'm not a Karen who enjoys getting people in trouble at their jobs, especially during hard economic times... butthe owner and management of this restaurant should seriously reevaluate their staff. It?s convenient and the food is ok, but the service has always been terrible. Tonight was the worst. Our server never came to... the table until he was ready for us to pay the bill. We never got water, never got our plates cleared and we had to beg him torefill our drinks. One of us would catch him, and then he?d turn and walk away even when the rest of the table wanted a refill.He brought us the bill three times, and I was still eating my meal. It was my nephew graduation dinner and it was my and my parents 1st time there but the food and drinks were so delicious
The food was good and the service given to me was exceptional. But when I ordered an appetizer, it fill both me and my father up... and we had to pack our main course in a To-go container. Kinda wastes the good quality food if I have to heat it up at home. Iireally liked how he personally packed our food up tho, never seen that happened in any other restaurants. Read more
Our 1st visit was amazing. Our waitress was helpful without hovering... Both entrees were great as was the suggested cheese cake... sopapilla... Larry, the General Manager sealed the deal; checking on our meal and sharing a moment with us... Go. You won't bedisappointed. Read more
I think these reviews must be written by employees! This was the worst breakfast. It's really hard to mess up French toast. I... got literally 2 hotdogs buns that were both over and undercooked. Just stopped in for beers at the bar. Got greeted quickly and with hot chips and salsa that were fantastic. Super friendly... service. Will be back for full meals soon Read more
