Great service, good food, large portions. Our waiter, Gerardo was very attentive. He checked on us often and made sure to keep... the water ???? coming. I drink a lot of water, so I really appreciate that! We started with their $0.52 Dip Special, which wasfresh carrots and celery sticks with a yummy peanut butter a Thai sauce dip. Then we ordered the Garlic Chicken pasta and theVeggie Mu Shu. Both were delicious and large enough for us to take home enough for another meal later on. This is such a great place. Homey, comfortable, great food & service. Even has a patio. Such an assortment of choices on the... menu but I always get the same thing because I can't get it anywhere else & it's so delicious. The cream cheese, black olives,tomatoes, red onions & pepperoni sandwich. The macaroni salad is really good that comes with it. I've been going there for over20 years as I live nearby & it was the first time for 2 of my friends who came from the San Pedro area. They loved it, too.Manager Dane was very friendly & was happy to have new customers that will definitely go back. The fact that it's been there for52 years says a lot about how great it is! I just went there and decided to try it out of recommendation from a friend. Prices are somewhat expensive but they do offer a... decent selection of bagels, coffee and sandwiches. They?re specializing in vegetarian meals so I bought their veggie burger.It?s pretty interesting they use a sourdough bread to cover up the patty and it works quite well. Although the bread was a bittough and overly toasted, the patty is really tasty along with the simple melted cheddar cheese on top of it. It?s $14 after taxbut the portion is decent. Not too bad for a first try and the interior is quite nice. It?s Slow during the day. So unlessyou?re meeting a friend or a date, better to do a takeout. They?re definitely one of the few nice vegetarian restaurants aroundthe area. Just be prepared to spend some extra money especially if you eat inside. Read more
Lovely local place that has two other locations. Food and drink were great. I had the seasonal special, Dave's Beard (Has Gotten... Spicy). A tasty take on the club with fresh jalapeños and avocado. I also enjoyed the Cockie Leeky soup. The dessert of theDeep Dish Apple Pie a la mode was very good and should've been shared with another. I definitely did not finish it though Itried. Read more
Finally, vegan and vegetarian food that's actually good! I normally eschew vegetarian/vegan restaurants because I often find... they put little to no effort to make their food appealing to omnivores (like me), but Rutabegorz has changed my mind I wenthere yesterday on a date since all the other places in town were overpriced and we wanted a good, hearty meal, so we decided totry this place for the first time. The portions were ***massive*** for the price, and the food was filling. They actually dohave meat options but I decided to get the vegetarian lasagna, and let me tell you, I did not miss the meat at all! The lasagnawas so good on its own, but especially with the raw sliced tomatoes on top (it sounds weird but it's actually an amazing combo,trust me). My date got a sandwich which ended up being absolutely massive, about half the size of their whole head! I loved thatfresh fruit was included with our meals too, it's a nice healthy desert aftet a big meal. The food overall was very fresh withhigh quality ingredients. For the modest price, the proportions were big so I was pretty full (but without that gross feelingand the guilt). We will definitely be back here next time we visit Fullerton! Read more

I have been going to Rutabgorz in Fullerton for over 10 years. The outdoor seating with fireplace is awesome in winter and the... fans are awesome in summer. I bring my pup and he is always welcomed. The food and service is stellar. Can't beat the pricefor the healthy ingredients or the serving size. My Mom and I always split the dish and still have leftovers. Thank you forbeing such a great contribution to the community for all these years. Read more
