Went there because yes they have a dog friendly patio, we wanted a beer and something to eat, they do not have their liquor... license anymore, ordered a panini that came on a hoggie bun with wilted gross lettuce and bacon uncooked, sandwich was prettymuch thrown at me with no napkins, I went in to get some mayonnaise and they don't use that???? what kinda sandwich place has nomayo? Left the whatever sandwich on the table and left, as one of the only places to eat on the Island they could really juststep it up a bit. Oh and my husband could not find one thing to eat as keto. Good portions, quick service, delicious coffee, even more delicious food. We especially enjoyed the Westcoast sandwich,... pineapple coconut smoothies, and iced lattes. Nice and open seating with a good environment. We went every day of our trip! Read more
We dropped in on a busy Saturday for a light lunch... super busy. But service with the three paninis and coffees was really... fast. Yummy Italian panini with pesto! Lovely smiling young people running the front of house and a dog-friendly shaded patio.Doesn't get much better! We love Gabriola. My only minor complaint: we asked for glasses for our soda and proper cups forcoffee ( not paper) but they didn't have any. Maybe a dishwashing or water shortage issue? Disappointed to create so much trashfrom a simple lunch. Read more
Thee best breakfast burritos I?ve ever had! Delicious coffee, and lovely ambience. Convenient location right when you get off... the ferry. I always look forward to coming here when I visit family on the island. Can?t say good enough things ???????? Read more
A busy, bustling little gem on Gabriola. Excellent coffee, lots of comfy places to sit and talk including a lovely outdoor area.... Not a ton of gluten free foods but we did enjoy a big GF peanut butter cookie and the Americanos were delicious. Quick serviceand the staff were friendly. Our fave coffee spot on Gabriola. Read more
Every time I come to Gabriola I have to get a coffee from Mad Rona?s. The location is perfect as it is close to the market... center of the community and ferry terminal. Lots of parking available including handicap spaces. Inside there is lots of roomto sit. Choose by the fire to be cozy or sit at the large communal table as it is a cool designed piece with swing out chairs.Outside has a great patio area with nice landscaping and trees. There is a cool awning design for hot sunny days. The usualcoffee selection that you would expect of a quality cafe. My last visit I had their homemade Nanaimo bars which were so good,definitely get one of you want something sweet. Their wraps are also fresh and tasty if you are feeling hungry. Read more
Food was fantastic, best hot chocolate I have had in a while! Definitely worth going to if you find yourself on Gabriola!
