Waffle House is my go-to for breakfast, but this location I don't know about this. I went like 9 at night. When I first went in... I was greeted with an awkward silence and saw none of the tables were clean. When I got my drink, I was told they didn't havestraws. I ain't whipping into waffle house at 2 am for the ambience. I'm there because they're open at 2 am and they've got food. Those... are the only two criteria a place needs to meet at 2 am to keep me satisfied. This particular waffle house just happens to alsobe staffed by some of the nicest, most realest-est people in Gainesville (bold statements only on this review page.) I really like the staff at this waffle house. The manager, in particular, is very good. He's responsible, keeps everyone up to... speed, patient, and is a good mentor. I noticed the waffles were lighter than I prefer so I asked for it to be extra crispy, notexpecting that the cook, who feels new, would be able to do it. I was wrong. There aren't any waffle houses where I'm from sobeing able to go to one every 5 years or so is a real treat. I loved my breakfast, 2 eggs over hard, sausage, toast and awaffle. I couldn't finish it all but I was happy. 4.6 out of 5 stars just because my table wasn't as clean as I hoped and evenafter I asked for it to be cleaned, it was still a bit sticky on surfaces not wiped. Clean, excellent service, hot food. Eggs cooked perfectly & pork chops. Cheese steak was juicy & also cooked perfect.
Good spot the people working there were great, definitely going back. Daytime shift was a little slow, not because of the cooks... or the crew behind the counter. When I got there there was no table available There was a staff shortage and one of the veteransale associates was just sitting at a table, I asked her to sit me at a table but she was busy doing her tips or something so Isat at the low bar. Walked in at 4:50 am nov 10th during hurricane Nicole an was told they were closed "but cooking for the people sitting in... there" clearly they wasn't closed. and because of my race I was refused.. I'll no longer bring my business to thisestablishment. The cooks an waitress are racist and it's sick. Lazy useless staff This store needs a adjustment an a serioustalk with the cook and waitress.
