So I had a bit of a unique situation with catering with Mission BBQ. We were quoted a total for our 160 guests in January, and... we signed the contract and put down the deposit. Months went by, I finally got a final headcount of 145 and let Matt (ourcaterer) know we could adjust the number (was hoping to save a little money, we were skating by the skin of our teeth to pay itall off) He responds with my new invoice, and my stomach drops. For some reason, it says its over $2,000 more than the originalquote for 15 people LESS. So I email him letting him know I think there was a mistake. Well he calls me, lets me know that itwas a mistake on his end, he only actually added our cocktail hour menu to our invoice originally? not our actual dinner. (Sidenote- this is exactly 3 weeks before my wedding) i start panicking, I call my fiancé, we?re both freaking out. In the end, Mattgenuinely apologized, and did everything he possibly could to help us get some money off. I could tell he felt so bad, and Iknow it was 100% an accident. Day of wedding - they were PHENOMENAL. The waiters were so sweet, one of them actually coming upto my husband and I saying they have never witnessed a more love filled wedding (and she loved my twilight theme in my ceremonylol) my guests are STILL talking about how incredible the food was. (ALSO- several people in our family went to a wedding a fewmonths prior and they had Mission BBQ too, but it was a maryland location?. They said this location knocked it out of the PARK!)Matt also made it his mission (pun intended) to come to our wedding so we could meet him, and so that he could be sure nothingwent wrong day of. This location has the best management and staff of any eatery in VA. Customer service is #1 here and it's unbelievable that... everyone here works as a team, especially during these difficult times. Here, you forget that Covid exists. Kudos to managementand staff. You never disappoint. The food is excellent, management is perfect, staff is superb. I'm from Canada and this is a must stop to eat when down in Gainesville. I had the smoked beef brisket, mac & cheese and green... beans. To top it off they had eight different sauces to choose from. Delicious! Read more

It?s mission so it?s never bad, however this definitely isn?t the best Mission I?ve been too. Mac was over cooked and was heavy... in breadcrumbs as a filler. Pulled pork wasn?t too bad but severely average. Good people, but the food tonight was just?.. bleh. Read more
