Everything was super delicious and tasted very authentic. Prices are very low. I only wish I could order in advance for large... orders of a variety of bread instead of having to come in super early to get the bread I want. I drive all the way from DC forthis bread. Best by far! Read more

Discovered GuateBakery on the map when planning a bike trip through Gaithersburg. Had to check it out. Prices are low so I... had to get quite a bit to meet their credit card minimum. Everything was clearly freshly prepared and tasted great. I woulddefinitely plan to go back if I pass through Gaithersburg again. The chile rellenos was very different than the Mexican item ofthe same name was excellent. There was a different name for what would be a concha in a Mexican panaderia, but it was verygood, with a light airy bread. Got 5 different cookies which I brought home and enjoyed thru the afternoon, evening and nextmorning. Definitely recommend GuateBakery.\nSam Read more

My family has been coming here for almost 2 decades and yet the Guatemateca continuously brings a smile to my face each visit... because I know not only will it get amazing service and food but it is also like visiting family each time. Their products arealways freshly made and each can be said to have been baked with Guatemateca pride. Read more

Wonderful pastries at very reasonable prices. I was not familiar with Guatemalan bakery items but decided to try them. The owner... is so nice - he explained everything, made some recommendations, and is just very helpful and friendly. I now go regularly topick up goodies. Read more

Owners daughter told me what kind of tamales they had today. ? I said I don?t like pork so I?ll take for corn and for chicken?, ... got home and found four pork and four chicken tamales. I was told after I called that she was sure I ordered pork to which Isaid we don?t eat pork. Went back to the store and the daughter was not around. The owner, sitting in chair and angry looking, said that his daughter is American and speaks English. Though I tried to repeat exactly how I made my order for the tamales hekept interrupting me and said that I was wrong. Opened the tamales at home because we were not familiar with a string aroundthe tamale. Owner said ?the kid should not be the one to open the tamales?. So I guess 12 yr old kids are never to Be excitedabout getting their corn tamales. Owner was extremely rude saying that corn tamales aren?t wrapped in foil. My daughter spoke upand said we didn?t remember that because we don?t come here every week. Imagine a child seeing the owner dismiss my daughter?scomments. We left in shock at such rude treatment. The daughter didn?t fill my tamale order correctly and we felt the wrath ofgod (the owner) for it. Feel sorry for the owner and daughter who don?t have the character to own up to their mistakes. Mistakethat wasn?t the end of the world!!!!! Read more
