Madras Palace is a household name when it comes to vegetarian South Indian cuisine in this area. This was one of the first... restaurants to offer dosas and idlis and I am glad the management kept true to the roots by staying all vegetarian. It was goodto see novelty items on the menu as well. Bisi bele bhat were great. However, we were not impressed with the dosa. Rawa dosa wasoily and thick. Ghee roast was good, but we have had better. Haven?t had a sambhar with so much water ever in my life that you only test water and no spices. Second, I am not sure what kind... of corruption these guys are doing with IRS to save money. When I paid in cash to get 3% discount as it was mentioned atregister. I got the receipt that says ?UNPAID? and on top of that I did not get my change back. Abhilash just shamelessly saidthat we don?t provide change. I hope consumer complaint will get this resolved soon. More over, the owner or whoever took theorder was very very rude to people who were visiting just to have food. There was a lady with kids who asked for less hot/spicedfood for her kids and yet owner just made the regular level spiced food and asked lady to take out few things to make it eatablefor kids. This is one of the few Indian restaurants that really does it right. Their food is pretty close to authentic and has spice. This... has been my grandmother?s favorite Indian restaurant in the city for a long time. Their mango lassi is delicious. Sweet,creamy, and so much mango flavor. $5 The garlic naan is also delicious, and one order comes with 4 pretty big pieces! The breadis just crispy enough while still being soft and malleable. The garlic flavor is very mild, and it is garnished with coriander.$5 The paneer butter masala is excellent. Super creamy, tons of paneer, and served in a nice vessel along with a mound of rice.The paneer is extremely soft and cooked perfectly. $16 The channa batura is massive.
