First time here and it won't be the last. Before this we had thought we had stayed in some very unique places. We'll this just... made the top of the list. We stayed in the Mississippi room and it just blew us away. I'm sure the other rooms were also nice,however, this is the room to stay in. The on-site host and hostess were like family to us, as well as the rest of the staff. Youabsolutely have to stay at Goldmoor, if not you're missing out on a great experience. Read more
Dusty window sills, dead insects on window sills, webs and spider on ceiling above doorway entry and near fireplace. I stayed at... the Irish Cottage #3 at The Goldmoor Inn. The bed was hard and the pillows were not comfortable at all. I didn't get a chance totry the jacuzzi since it was a short stay (labor day weekend) We had breakfast delivered to our door. Nicely done. But honestly,I was not crazy about citrusy waffles. Pretty presentation though. The lady at the front dest was very nice when we arrived.Since we were really early she said she would call us when the room was ready. My boyfriend and I drove to Downtown Galena inthe meantime. On our last day heading home, I was not sure where to leave the key..no one is at the front desk BUT the frontmain door was open. Luckily there are cameras so they see "who drops off" the key. I wish I was told something about that or ifthere was a box to specifically drop off keys. Read more
Stayed here for two nights and they treated us so well. From little aspects such as the towel warmer, fireplace, and having... cookies in the room as soon as we walked in, we enjoyed every moment. The chairs outside to watch the sunset every night wasanother nice touch. My husband and I will be back. Couldn’t recommend this place enough. Read more
This bed and breakfast inn will not disappoint! The location is amazing as well as the rooms, service and food. The view is... spectacular! The staff were always pleasant and anytime we asked for anything they were prompt getting it to us. After the wholecovid shut down other hotels have cut out a lot of their services and you have to specifically ask. We were pleasantly surprisedto have our room made up daily with bed made, fresh towels, and a delicious full breakfast delivered to our room. This is adefinite place we will return to every year! My visit to Goldmoor Inn was for dining only. The place is beautiful. The owner is charismatic and very easy to talk to, he... obviously loves this place. The inn is beautiful. The dinner could have been better. Beef Wellington was overdone and themashed potatoes were super thin, almost like a sauce. We're not entirely disappointed we made the trip out here, but betterfood, or at least food and prices that fit us better can be found on the main Galena strip, without the drive. Read more
Beautiful cabin, location, scenery, just all-around beautiful and timeless. The staff is attentive to all of your needs. If... you’re staying in the cabin they will provide you with a forecast of the weather for the day and the weather for the next dayalso a full menu every day you get fresh cookies and breakfast brought into your cabin. The cleaning staff does an amazing jobcleaning the room and making sure that you have warm towels and also that your bathroom is warm which makes it feel very spalike! We will be coming here yearly four and we can get away. The grounds are absolutely gorgeous you have the scenery isbeautiful horses running wild. To little bunnies running all around your cabin. This place is located close to Mississippi river that helps with the beautiful view of sunset. The place is serene, rooms are ... spacious and very comfortable. Breakfast is a delight! Huge rooms and the grounds are amazing. Perfect to sit outside with a glass of wine and enjoy the view! Breakfast can be... delivered and it was just enough to start the day. The restaurant is very romantic and the food is flavorful. The owners have astrong attention to detail. Read more
