Went with an Old Fashioned as well but it was made with... a lot of ice, regretted my choice when I saw my dad's Manhattan straight up served. My family of 4 ate here 3 days ago. This was our 3rd time here and never again! My cheese steak sandwich had ZERO cheese, my... sons had a little bit. Also mine had almost no onions or steak!?? For $14 I want more than just bread. Also my fries were burnt.It was a busy weekend so service was crazy slow which is fine but we waited 25 minutes just for a soda. Also, flies wereeverywhere. The Green Street Tavern & Restaurant is beautiful however I would not advise eating there in the summertime. We have been by... the DeSoto House hundreds of times and always talked about eating there so we were glad when they had a reservation open on ourmost recent trip. The food was ok but we were all so grossed out by the number of flies everywhere including in our faces amd onour plates we just couldn't really eat it. They were killing flies all over the place, using their hands (yes we watched herclap her hands kill a fly and continue on), a server used a pamphlet then picked the squished fly off the wall and throw itaway, they were using a fly swatter in the room with all the condiments in it then they hung it back on the wall. I asked if itwas normal for them to have so many flies and was told "Oh yeah, last summer they were even worse." I was actually surprised how good the food was here . Grilled cheesed with tomato bisque was amazing and so was the shrimp po... boy .my husband had the burger and that too was very tasty .In be love will def be back fro our next trip . Read more

While visiting Galena, my husband and I swung in here quick for an appetizer and a drink. We enjoyed the ARTICHOKE & ROASTED RED... PEPPER DIP. It was amazing! The fried pita chips or excellent in the dip had a great flavor! Our server did an excellent job andwas very kind and friendly. We did enjoy a orange Creamsicle adult beverage which was absolutely delicious! Definitely swinginto this little gem if you ever find yourself in Galena. Read more
GST is part of the Desoto House in downtown Galena and offers a cozy Tavern style atmosphere and great menu selection. They have... specials every night of the week and we went on their all you can eat cod night which we ordered along with the salmon burger.The fish was good but more of a light batter that isn?t as crispy as I prefer it but was still tasty. Coleslaw and potato saladsides were a little bland and needed more seasoning but the salmon burger was very good. Garlic fries are a must! Pricing isfair and staff is nice. They do not take reservations and it came get full being part of the hotel, so come earlier or expect await on the weekend especially. Read more
