The waiter was very unfriendly, wasn't fully involved in serving our party of 3. Wouldn't give us the attention we deserved... while taking our order. Stopped in for breakfast - friendly service but was basically reheated/toaster oven waffles, low quality eggs and thin reheated... bacon. Low budget and overpriced below restaurant quality food - disappointing given the charm of the place and location.There?s a kitchen in there - use it! The good- The server was very friendly and helpful. This is the only thing that deserves any stars. The salad would have been... good but was drenched in water. The bad- The stairway going up to the restaurant needs a good scrubbing. The grime on the rails is enough to make you turn around. The picture is what I got ordering a half slab of ribs. All discernible moisture wasremoved from these ribs. My husband had what was supposed to be chicken pot pie. All potatoes and a few peas. No discerniblechicken and bland. So we were in Galena for 4 days. There are a good amount of places but we loved this one so much we ended up eating there three... times. That chicken is amazing. I live next to Chicago so I have plenty of options and this is right up there with them butwithout the steep price tag (for the amount you get, it's very reasonable) and it feels like you are in your mom's/grandma'skitchen, and who doesn't love that? The staff are great. Super friendly (I kept hearing the Cheers themesong in my head) andhilarious. The night we got dessert my mom didn't want any but my dad did so she asked if he wanted an extra spoon, to which hereplied it will be the wife portion. She came back with the regular dessert and a mini version with a tiny spoon. She gave thatto my dad and gave the regular sized one to my mom. Needless to say we were all dying in laughter. What a wonderful, yummy place to grab food. For medical reasons, I am not able to eat beef or pork. I have had this dietary... restriction for a year. I have never seen a duck burger on a menu and went for it. For the first time in a whole year, Igenuinely enjoyed a real animal meat burger. I was lickin the plate the food was so yummy.
