Went during happy hour and we were very impressed with the portions received at the happy hour prices. The food was delicious.... The patio atmosphere was nice. Got to watch the cruise ships set out. We were in Galveston 3 days, and with all the diningoptions, we ate here twice. It will be a must in our future trips to Galveston. Read more
We enjoyed coming here so much that we booked a second night during our week in Galveston. If the weather is tolerable, eat... outside since it is quite busy and loud inside. Fish and shell fish are excellent, but don't discount the sides. One of the mainreasons we returned is because of the amazing mashed potatoes. Truly excellent! I never write reviews but our experience was so wonderful that I just had to share!! This was our first time here and we were... blown away from start to finish! Our server, Kara, was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and truly loves her job! It wasvery evident that she wanted us to have the best experience and gave the best recommendations! Truly the best service we havehad at a restaurant in a very long time - thank you, Kara!! The food was absolutely incredible. So very fresh and preparedperfectly! Wonderful food and good atmosphere. The restaurant is built right on the water. Everything was so fresh tasting. The fried fish... was crispy, flaky and delicious. The fried shrimp were fairly large and some of the best I've ever had. The portions were large,but I couldn't help eat every bite on my plate. While.the crab on the macaroni and cheese was fresh the Mac and cheese itselfleft a lot to be desired. It was dry and tasteless. Let me start off with how incredibly inviting the front hostess was when we arrived. We reserved a table and time online and... they were ready for us as soon as we entered. We sat outside and our server, Chance, greeted us immediately with a smile andeager to get our drink order and guide us through an appetizer choice. He explained the specials for the day and my husbandordered that, it was a Golden Tile special and the flavors were amazing. I ordered the crab cakes plate and I was impressed withthe presentation right off the bat. Our server, Chance, had brought several dipping sauces to choose from but in all honesty Inever used any of them because the crab cakes were so delicious that they didn't need anything! I've eaten at many fine diningrestaurants all up and down the east coast and abroad, and I've never eaten such exquisitely prepared food as Katie's. Eventhe steamed and seasoned vegetables were perfectly prepared. We highly recommend Katie's and if you can, ask for a table thatChance is working, he'll treat you like your his only customer. The food is very good here. The prices are on the higher side and some things don't seem reasonable at all. Service was... excellent and team was friendly. Great view when you're sitting outside on the back deck. Caught a sunset tableside. For yearswe've been getting seafood from them at their market. Today was the first time I had a chance to eat at the restaurant that'sstill fairly new. I would come back and I recommend the food. Read more
The food was really freaking good. The Hans Trio sandwich and the fish tacos were awesome!! Paula, our server was very... informative and friendly. Food came out in a timely manner. Facilities were clean. Parking was a little hard to come by. Isuggest calling the restaurant for parking information before going. They gave us a helpful tip on parking validation. Read more
Good food here and definitely fresh! Servers were very friendly, however it did take a while for the food to come but it’s... worth the wait. They originally didn’t bring us silverware so we had our food but nothing to eat with, and we had to wait like5 extra minutes to eat. The location is great. It is very fun to watch the ships come in and out of port while you eat at therestaurant. Overall it was a positive experience here 4/5! Read more
