This place was rated very highly on Google so that's why I tried it. I had the beef fajitas and queso and some beer. The salsa... was warm and that's one of the only things I didn't like. Tasted fine but I like salsa cold with warm chips. I gave it a fourbut perhaps a high three would be more accurate. Fajitas were tender and served medium as I requested. But they did lack flavor.Queso was alright also. $34.00 per order for beef fajita for one person. Portion was fairly large, two people could eat if notstarving. Excellent food. We popped in for lunch while walking the historic district and made the right choice. Fresh ingredients,... friendly staff and fair pricing. Paul from Chicago was our waiter and did an excellent job. He is probably one of the mostpersonable and tentative employees I've seen in the food industry in years. I would recommend this place in a second over anyother in the area for Tex Mex. We tried another place the next day down near the beach and it couldn't come close. Read more
Stopped in after Artwalk. It was busy and there was about a 20 minute wait. The waitstaff was very friendly. Good chips and... salsa. The food arrived very quickly. The shrimp in my taco salad were very good. Watch out for the grilled serrano pepperthat comes with the Effen Mary (soooo hot, but in a good way ???? ????). Read more
Really good Mexican food; maybe not as Tex-Mex as you'd be used but a good blend of authentic and Tex-Mex. I would not recommend... the queso bit I enjoyed everything else. My family had mixed opinions. Read more
Awesome awesome dinner!! When I say we got what we ordered we did.. I had the chicken quesadilla and my daughter had the... shrimp.. each tortilla had the right amount of meat and the sauce was phenomenal.. and the waitress I had was great.. woulddefinitely go back to this place with no problem..!! Worth the money for sure.. although their dessert sopiapilla we wasextremely hard (like it has been sitting out for a long time); like I could barely get my knife through it lol..but the managercorrected this real quickly and we got some fresh ones.. This is the second time my girlfriend and I have had dinner at Taquilo?s Tex-Mex Cantina in Galveston. You really need to go... back to a restaurant before you can truly judge quality, cleanliness and customer service. We shared the mixed fajitas whichwere excellent. The chicken & beef were tender, well seasoned and sizzling hot. The flour tortillas were okay. The beans andrice was were good. Our waitress was attentive and pleasant. My girlfriend said the restroom could have been policed up better.The inside was clean, no sticky floors. The tab for 2 people with 2 well drinks, mixed fajitas with beans & rice came to$51.
