The hostess really didn?t give us a warm welcome at all because we never had a reservation. She kept saying ?you?ll have to? sit... here, wait to get a menu all because we didn?t have a reservation although we did get a seat quickly. The food was mediocre. English style pub / bar. The bar is divided into 2 sitting outside on the balcony next to the road and an inside part designed... like an old library. A very nice place, courteous and pleasant service, a selection of alcoholic beverages, cocktails orwine/beer. The food menu is very diverse with a number of English dishes, sausages or ribs. One of the good patios in downtown Gananoque. The food is always fresh and the service is up to par. They offer a wide range of... English pub food, mixed with the usual NA pub food (burgers etc..). They also have a wide selection of local beers on tap. Thepatio is well maintained with fresh flowers and clean tables. The inside is also clean and well maintained. I'm still giving ita 5 stars despite having the outside chalk board menu offer a meal that they are out of (not updated ). But that's just a smalldetail. Overall would go back again. Read more
Beds and rooms are comfortable. Very very disappointed in the hotel itself. First we were beside a big garbage bin which... smelled. We asked to move and were allowed to do so to a much better area. Hot breakfast was supposed to be included. Insteadall we got was a choice of a cookie a snack bar and a juice or all three. I don't call this a breakfast never mind a hotbreakfast. This place was phenomenal. It was the best place we visited so far. The Brie was amazing and we got the steak. I did feel the... steak was a little small but the quality was amazing. Also had the apple pecan pie for desert. A little warning it?s more of anapple pie than a pecan pie but it was still really good. Definitely recommend the ice cream for it as it came out hot. We arrived with no reservations and originally were told it could be easily an hour but the hostess ended up seating us a few... minutes later outdoors, which was beautifully decorated. The music was extremely loud, and the waitress (Caitlin) was totallyunderstanding and kind enough to turn it down. The lobster roll was delicious and the truffle Mac and cheese was good but Ididn?t find it really tasted of truffle. Good comfort food all the same. Such a cute patio!! Fresh flowers on every table. The food was delicious. I ordered the truffle oil mac and cheese, my hubby had... the jambalaya. Fantastic! Our server was very friendly and the food actually came so fast! Bonus, there was a puppy at the nexttable that wanted to be everyone's best friend. Super soft.
