A very exceptional dining experience. We were lucky enough to dine at Hastings House before the season ended. A good selection... of cocktails, local beers and wines. The oysters and mignonette were an amazing way to start our meal. The Belgian endive,blue cheese, and pecan salad was rich and delicious and balanced nicely with a balsamic vinegar reduction. This was my firsttime eating spätzle in a restaurant and it was seasoned exceptionally well. The mushroom sauce paired nicely with the roastedvegetables and pork schnitzel. Probably our favourite dish of the night, the pan seared scallops and Caesar salad. The croutonswere very crunchy and the scallops were seared beautifully. Ending the night with their chocolate creme brûlée and Halloweenfireworks show was quite the finale. Read more

We had dinner here one night and it was really beautiful. We sat outside for a drink and enjoyed the landscaping and views of... the harbor. Then we went inside the dining room to eat and sat by beautiful doors that were cracked open. We felt very pamperedby the waiter and enjoyed the two dishes we tried. I was so lucky to have been invited for a two night stay at the charming Hastings House. The moment I set foot on the beautiful... grounds, I felt serene and comfortable. Each room is unique and personalized with our name at our door. As well, it was soinviting to be greeted by fresh flowers in the room and an adorable homemade sheep on the night table. We enjoyed walking thebeautiful grounds, enjoying views of the calming ocean, as well as exploring the farm, feeding the sheep, and even tasting acherry tomato and strawberry from the greenhouse. Although we fully enjoyed the filling daily breakfast at the Manor, we weremore charmed by the simple but delicious fresh baked warm muffins outside the door every morning (yes, a different flavour eachday) - such a personal touch. As well, I cannot say enough good things about the wonderful and warm staff at Hastings House. Inparticular, Alan the general manager was very hospitable and inviting, as well as generous and helpful. You can see that hetruly cares about his guests. Finally, the location is truly ideal. It’s a short walking distance into town, and very closeto the ferry harbour. I cannot stop raving about how truly memorable and unforgettable my stay was. I’m thankful to have hadthis experience. This property is far from the humdrum of bustling city life , yet there are plenty of outdoor pursuits to be enjoyed that are... close to it. We were there in April to celebrate our wedding anniversary and I cannot praise this idyllic retreat highly enough!This place has beautiful settings and lovely views from the Farm West suites where we stayed. The staff had arranged for aspecial table for our anniversary dinner and the culinary experience was memorable. This property is ideal for those looking forpeace. I loved the cozy suite with its floral prints and wooden furniture. It was open and airy and had a rustic and whimsicallook. Fresh muffins were delivered to the door every morning. I liked the selection of teas in our room. Everything wasextremely pleasing, including the attentive service. Read more

I can't speak highly enough about the Hastings. The moment you step on the property you enter a different world: tranquil,... beautiful and relaxed. The grounds and gardens are well maintained, the rooms are gorgeous with the old English feel (but don'tthink they are old as I did when looking at the pictures on the website :)) they are not. We stayed at the west farmhouse (partyof 4) and it was one of the most convenient and well appointed rooms we've ever stayed in. The dinners at the restaurant werefantastic ( we even brought our catch of the day and the chef made absolutely stunning and delicious meals out of it!). Theservice was very professional and friendly (thank you Garet and the lovely fellow who served us on our first night:)) Breakfasts are complimentary with the selection of eggs based dishes,specials of the day or yogurt with fruits andgranola. GM Alan was a pleasure to chat with on our day of the arrival as well as the staff at the reception desk that gavesome cool recommendations on what to do in the area that only locals would know :) (thanks Joshua!) The town is just a coupleof minutes away driving if you feel like getting a coffee or a meal outside of the property (delicious and healthy aswell!). Ps: no lunch available at the property, but it wasn't a problem at all with lots of other options available in townclose by.
