Look out, Raleigh! Reliable intel from the chef himself: Eden's Vegan is coming to Raleigh! Wanting to hit as many local veg... cuisine spots as I could on a visit to Raleigh, I decided to take the drive out to Eden's. I was debating the drive but wow,thank goodness I took it. And dropping in during off-hours meant I got to talk with the owner, Alex, for over 20 minutes. Drivenby passion to nourish bodies with health, Alex constructs meals designed also to delight the taste buds. And mine weredelighted. This review comes bearing glad tidings that the tasty-plant-inclined residents of Raleigh will soon have anotherterrific option within the city itself. Eden's new location will let folks take out portions of Alex's food artistry withoutrequiring a half hour drive ... as well as put the place on many more radars that would never have heard of it (or learned thatit's arguably well worth that half hour drive). Wonderful experience! Do not be put off by the ?reservation only? and pick up the phone to make a reservation. The food is... ENTIRELY vegan and not just vegetarian. This place is the reason Durham is so wonderful: black owned, mom and pop restaurant,gourmet dining at a fraction of the cost. This place is run by great people who are gifted chefs and the food is incomparable.The 3 of us had a great time coming for dinner and even made room for dessert (zucchini cake is a must try). Hole in the wall and hidden gem are great ways to describe this place. Don't be thrown off by the reservation only sign. We... almost did and started to leave before the owner told us to come in. However, we got lucky to walk in for Sunday buffet dinner, andAlex welcomed us with open arms even though we didn't have reservations. Dinners are reservations only. My husband is acarnivore and loved the food! The 'meatloaf' and gravy were outstanding. The mashed sweet potatoes, noodles, zucchini bread,regular bread, roasted veggies, bean dish were a hit. Everything was tasty and we'll done. The buffet was gluten free. I'mexcited to have found a place I can get healthy take out too. Also very personable and friendly. Read more
