I'm not too sure this restaurant is for all people. Me and my company sat at a table for 20 minutes as the OWNER sat at the bar... engaged into a marvelous conversation as he watched his staff blatantly ignore us service. We noticed there was no more than 11people dining in the restaurant at the time and not once did any employee come over to even acknowledge us. As we left, we askedan employee who was the manager and he advised only the owner (ALLEN). At this point Allen was looking directly at us to neverremove himself from the bar to correct himself as a leader or professional business owner. My 1st experience was nice as I'mthe gentleman who advised the manager and bar tender at the time of a new mix drink using Skrewball. I truly lost my taste ofever coming to this place after this experience. My advisory to people of color would to be careful if you choose to dine atthis location. Read more

Food was ok at best. Staff was a bit distant. Ordered a pretty basic mixed drink and it tasted like something was wrong with it.... Their answer was to bring the bottle and show me. Two tries and I moved to a different drink. Wasn?t a thing until a week laterwhen I realized this exact thing happened the last time I was there a couple of years ago. I?m sure they?re constantly tryingto improve, and for some it?s probably an awesome place because of its location?.but I?ll pass next time. Read more
We took my mother out to eat here to have a nice dinner over the Fourth of July weekend. They possibly had the best Sushi I have... tasted, but when my wife's steak was overcooked, three people came to our table at separate times and asked to see it as if shewere lying about the situation to get a free meal when at no time did we ever ask for a discount. We never even sent it back tothe kitchen, and were only pointing it out to our waitress since initially she was so positive that the cooks get every steakperfect! This is why she ordered it the way she did, due to the waitresses recommendation, and after this ordeal, I am not surethat we would visit again. Read more
Lotus gets 4 stars from me. I have been meaning to try this place for a while and I was pleasantly surprised with the upscale... food and sushi bar inside a strip mall place. I ordered a coconut mojito, California roll, and the swordfish weekly special. Thedrink was just ok and I probably wouldn?t order it again. It left something to be desired- maybe more coconut rum or maybe lessmint. The sushi is made to order by the sushi chef. It?s not the best I?ve had but it was good (I mean, this is Gastonia).Everyone raves about Jia but the sushi here is better in my opinion. I was wondering why the dinners were priced at upscaleprices until my dinner arrived. Props to the chef who knows his or her stuff! The food was delivered hot, plated wonderfully andit was delicious. The risotto was awesome and cooked perfectly as the swordfish was grilled but not overly smokey and not dry atall. I will definitely be back to try more of their unique variety of dishes! Read more
Making progress with the sushi options in NC. I am from out of state, a sushi lover and it has been so hard to find a good... place. Lotus is next to Publix so after a loooong day from work I decided to go grocery shopping and treat my mom and myself toa Sapporo and some sushi and we landed at Lotus Bar & Eatery. Let?s break down the stars: customer service: 5 star! we felt verywelcome, they young gentleman greeted us with a beautiful and genuine smile, we appreciated that. From that point on, I knew itwas going to be pleasant. Our server was very friendly and when I asked for suggestions she nailed it. The best part was whenAdam, the owner, came to our table after we were done and asked us how was our meal (8 stars for that attention to us).Appreciate it. Ambiance- 5 star! is a nice place to go with your family or enjoy a drink or two at the bar. Place is clean, lotsof space, maybe more lighting to show the second floor so people know there is an option for large gathering in a private area.It was not loud so that?s a plus. Food: I give 4 stars because I need to try some sushi rolls that are more elaborate. I havewasted so much money in other places so I tried I think 6 different rolls and they were very good. The rice was good, the rollswere tasty, fresh and pieces had the perfect size. The menu has so many options! Wait time was very reasonable. I highlyrecommend this place! Read more
We were able to call in a reservation on Valentine's day weekend. When we arrived the host told us they were running behind and... it would be another ten minutes. Our server, Ashlee, was wonderful. The kitchen was behind with orders but we didn't care.Ashley kept us informed throughout the night and made sure we had everything we needed. The food was not as good as expectedwith the price point. We have had dinner here several times & decided it was perfect to host our wedding dinner. Pat was very, very helpful! She... accommodated us in every aspect! We had an appetizer table and decided to give our guests three options ribeye, salmon andstuffed chicken. Everything was yummy! We we?re complimented on the food and service! The private rooms upstairs are perfect forevents. We had an open bar and everyone enjoyed their drinks. I highly recommend hosting your next event or just coming fordinner!
