Most phenomenal looking cake!!! What you don?t see in the picture is that it actually sparkled. Just so pretty!!! It was... decorated beautifully. Being long distance I searched for the best bakery in the Belmont area and came across Sugarlicious. I?mso happy I found them. I communicated with them probably more than the average person sending pictures and explaining everythingI wanted and they nailed it!!! It was my stepdaughter?s baby shower so I wanted her cake to be extra special like her! She lovedit!!! Many came up to me asking me where I had gotten the cake. It was so delicious and extremely moist. I chose the whitewedding cake with 3 layers of strawberry deliciousness!!! I?m conflicted on how to review sugarlicious bakery right now. I ordered a three tier cake with cookies and crème/marble,... strawberry/strawberry and coconut/vanilla. A few days before the wedding I went over the decorations of the cake with a baker. Itold them I wanted flowers on the middle tier with gold poca-dots. However when it finally came time for me to see the cake Ihad spent so much money on. It was extremely lopsided and crooked and it had sprinkles in my cookies and crème and no goldanywhere and we looked like idiots because we didn?t know there were plates in between the layers and here we are trying to cutit. First time I tried to stop in to place a cake order, I was 3 minutes past closing and the teenagers inside wouldn't open the... door... ok, I get it, you're closed. Second time I stop in, I made it when they were open. Was planning to place an order fora cake, a simple cheesecake or red velvet cake (nothing too fancy) and I wasn't picky about when it needed to be ready by;matter a fact I told the young lady I was open to getting it a week or more later (it's a random act of kindness for aco-worker, so no specific date to it). She needed to check with someone in the back that "handles these things".... the sameyoung lady returned saying they were all booked up. How are you all booked up when you don't even know when I needed it by? Atleast the "person that handles these things" could have came out front to better understand what I was inquiringabout. I was nervous about trying this place after reading some of the reviews, but I had a wonderful experience. I needed a cake for... a birthday and it was kind of last minute. That didn?t seem to be a problem. It was a vanilla cake with buttercream icing. The cake was fairly basic as far as decorations because that?s what I wanted but it was beautiful! Even better though was thetaste. Everyone kept talking about how good it was and my fiancé whom the cake was for said it was the best cake he had everhad. Cake is his favorite food and he has eaten quite a few cakes in his lifetime, so that was a big deal! The cake was moistand fluffy. The icing was perfect, not too much, not too little.
