New to the area. We?ve been there three times and every time it just gets better and better. The selection of tacos is great. We... love to mix-and-match. They have several different salsas. A large drink menu. My husband loves the mushroom onion quesadilla. Iloved the beef tongue, chorizo, shrimp, and queso Birria tacos. Fresh and authentic in my opinion Read more

Very surprised at these ratings. I ordered the Carne Asada and it was 4/10. The service was fine but no silverware and my wife... asked for salsa for the chips and it came way later. Overall service is passive but the food is especially mids. Tried my wife?squesadilla and it wasn?t much better, 5/10. We?d have been better off going to on the border. Read more

Gastonia is three for three! So many good restaurants in a tiny town! The Good: I wasn?t hungry and really wanted to try the... birria tacos but I ordered one Chorizo street taco and a side of plantains. I really loved both! The taco was obviouslyauthentic with its homemade, fluffy corn tortilla, wonderfully seasoned chorizo, and topped with cilantro and onion. Ourwaitress was VERY sweet and attentive and brought our desired salsas from the salsa bar. I asked for their spiciest, which was ahabañero salsa, and it was really tasty but could?ve been spicier hehe. Their chips and salsa weren?t free but were reallygood! The Meh: our table and bench seating area was partially clean with the portion closest to the wall still with old fooddebris. Didn?t love it but at least their sanitation score is high and hopefully accurately reflects how food is handled haha.My friend ordered a shrimp bowl that was drowned in cheese. She liked the flavors but we all agreed there was an overload ofqueso?almost looked like Mac and cheese. The Bad: nada - if you?re looking for tasty, authentic Mexican, you should go here! Read more

We had to wait at an empty register for what felt like an eternity. Tables inside were dirty with seemingly no one in charge of... cleaning them. The street tacos were bland. Service was friendly, quesadilla was good. 100% sanitation score. May have just beenan off visit, but as a first time diner I was unimpressed. Edit: 2022 update. Much better experience this time. Chips and salsaweren't free but they tasted like something worth paying for. Lux guacamole was terrific although the bagel chips were way toohard for our liking. Make sure you ask for the extra things you want on the burrito otherwise it will just be meat, rice andbeans. Mixed drinks/margaritas were pretty good. Bumping up 2 stars. Outside seating is great. This was our first time here, my family and I wanted to try out a Mexican restaurant here in Gastonia since we typically go to... Charlotte for Mexican food. We looked up a few restaurants and this one caught my attention. So we went here for our son?sbirthday on May 5th and the food was amazingly delicious! From the service, to the food and the reviews definitely worth it. Read more

Wasn't expecting this place to be as authentic as they are. Had the lengua and asada tacos. Really good seasoning and meat. No... chewy carne asada. The lengua was cooked all the way. Tortillas were bag tortillas but they were lightly fried which helps withthe texture and flavor. Salsas available were tasty and some spicy. Tony was a great server. Very attentive and polite. My momordered a zucchini and something else taco, i think it was beans, which she didn't like and he quickly got it replaced with alengua taco and didn't charge the difference. Place is pretty clean. Ambience music is subtle and enjoyable. Tried to go thereon Aug 15th but they didn't have enough people available to work. Will continue to go here and refer friends to it. Read more

Not even sure where to begin, for starters we waited a good bit before anyone acknowledged our group, we actually had to go get... someone. The guy was nice and friendly but seemed overwhelmed, I do understand there is a staff shortage but he was literallythe only server. The food was good which is why they get a 3 star but the tortas barely had any meat in it (picture forreference) last but not least the tortas were $9 but was charged $11 for them. I know $2 is not a big deal but their new pricesshould reflect on their menu or at least they should tell people before hand. The manager came over and adjusted the prices butwas very standoffish. Will probably not come back, which is a shame because the food was pretty good. Read more
