Everyone should experience this place. Excellent in every category. They are a long time local favorite and even mentioned in... the movie Big Stone Gap. They have limited seating because they are small and very popular but if you just sit in your car, acar hop will come to you and take your order. I beg you to try this place and then go up the road and see the Natural TunnelState park and/or the Daniel Boone Heritage trail. Read more
This is the BEST burger, fries and Ice Cream place!!! We came at 2pm on a Friday afternoon and the place was packed! Nothing... but smiles from the customers and servers alike! After tasting our food, I completely understand why. The burgers arehand-shaped and perfectly cooked. Dipping the crunchy curly fries in the best, silky smooth chocolate shake was the best sweetand salty yumminess I've had in a long time! And to top it all off, their prices are affordable and their staff is as sweet andfriendly as they come. Well done Hob-Nob! Definitely worth the 30 minute drive to come back! Read more

I'm giving two stars only because what USED TO be one of the greatest American food restaurants in this area has now the worst... food, worst experience, and is just plain filthy. Oh, the girls there are nice. It's been declining for years and every time Ihave gone, I now realized I stayed away a little longer each time. This last visit did me in for good. As expected, it was busyso my daughter and I called ahead to place an order. We were told the food would be at least forty-five mins, so we drove on toGate City and walked in the Antique store to look around a moment. Once we arrived, I attempted to call, and the phone had beentaken off the hook. People were grumbling in their vehicles next to us on either side about something grumble grumble Hob Nobgrumble this that grumble. Being it was busy, I exited my vehicle and walked inside. People weren't happy inside either andthough I tried to really not notice, I couldn't help but hear people just generally not having a good time. It was like everyface was just not happy. I thought well, maybe it's just the times we live in. NO! When I rounded the corner at that moment,much to my surprise the counter by the register from one end to the other was sitting completely full, stacked 8 or 10 high andseveral stacks at that, of dirty disgusting dishes. Not only that, there were flies all over them; it was so sickening. Theresat my food order and I swear I looked inside to make sure no flies had gotten in my bag. I paid and we brought our food home toeat. Let me tell you, those burgers were tougher than shoe leather and disgusting. The fries were gross and nothing at all wasworth eating. Between both of us, we may have had 5 or 8 bites. It was expensive!!!! It was tasteless!!! It was a pure shame. Read more
