I used to visit this place as a kid and always had fond memories. It lived up to those memories when I came back for lunch last... week while on a mother/daughter vacation. We both had the blackened trout with fried okra and green beans. The green beansdidn't have any seasoning and I only tried one bite. Fortunately the blackened trout, fried okra, hush puppies, fried potatochips, sweet tea, and great service made up for it. We got there right at 3pm when they opened on a Saturday. There were twowaitresses and we were the only customers in the restaurant (a football game was going on, so most people were at the sportsbars). There is parking just across the street that is reserved for only guests of the Trout House, so it made parking reallyeasy. I can't wait to come back and enjoy some more trout on my next vacation to the great smoky mountains. Read more

Obviously the main items on the menu were all trout (literally every entree was $22), and they did everything we tried pretty... well. Without a doubt, the strongsuit was anything out of a fryer, but even the side salad was a little more dressed up thanjust a plate of lettuce. Funny thing, the unexpected highlight of the meal was the "free appetizer" everyone gets, which wassome hush puppies and chips. Both were super good. All the employees were very kind and welcoming. Service was prompt. Greatthings to say all around there. The atmosphere wasn't dirty or anything where I felt unsafe, but I'm thinking the fryer goingin the small space and the overall room could use a brush up. Read more

Free parking and that's a big bonus! We had grilled trout and sauteed shrimp and they were good. We're pescatarians so we... truly appreciate seafood that's not fried! ???? So the chips and hush puppies were not a hit understandably. Shane was veryfriendly and efficient, checking on us but not hovering and we appreciate that too. Water tastes funny though, as i can tasteand smell the chemicals. Read more

The fresh trout is good, though I wasnt prepared for the bones. Getting seated was a little challenging due to the small dining... area and limited seating for larger groups. Service was a tad slow but the staff was very friendly. If you enjoy fresh trout itis definitely a place to visit. Read more

I enjoyed the food. I had the grilled rainbow trout and it was great. Their fried okra was some of the best I've ever had. They... also have homemake potato chips that are amazing. I was really impressed with the cleanliness of the bathrooms and lodge themebuilding. Our service was top notch. All in all, a positive experience. Read more

My first impression when we walked in is that this restaurant looks pretty cozy as it has a cabin-like interior decor. We went... on a Wednesday evening, which is not as busy as a weekend for sure, so we were basically seated right away. The waitress wasvery attentive to us, there wasn't one time where I felt like I was waiting for service. They're really nice, too, asking usabout where we're traveling from and they had a nice conversation with us. When we sat down, we got a basket of hand-cut potatochips and hush puppies, served with a cup of sweet and sour sauce. We asked about the menu, and it sounded like the items on thetrout section of the menu were sorted by popularity. The first item in the trout section, named the "Eisenhower", is theirhouse special. We ordered one of this dish and also their Grilled Rainbow Trout. Both dishes were great! Personally, however,I'm particularly sensitive to fish bones, and there were a few of them on the sides next to the side fins, but overall it wasn'tthat many bones and it was still a great tasting fish! Each trout dish comes with two side dishes. The Eisenhower and a fewother trout dishes come with one side dish built in, so you're actually going to get three side dishes with those. The two of usactually didn't order any appetizers or dessert and we still felt full when we finished our meal. Read more

Great Food! Amazing Fast Service on a busy Gatlinburg Saturday night approx 8 p.m. seated immediately and served, eating in just... 10-15 min or less from time of arrival. Free Parking is a Plus. It is directly across the street for the most part. The Troutoptions are endless but they also have other great seafood and chicken options. I had shrimp an my son had grilled chicken/2breasts w rice plus 2 sides. Appetizers were great also. I had the trout balls an they were way better than most crab cakes/balls but prepared similarly w exception of really good trout in place of crab Read more

First let me say that the parking for this restaurant is across the street from the actual restaurant. I visited here with my... family and I was pleasantly surprised to find this gem. As the name suggests they specialize in trout but I actually had thefried shrimp served in a bed on rice with a side of fries. Homemade potato chips and hush puppies are complementary additionsthat precede the meal. Our server Donna was wonderful. I can't say enough about her. One of the hallmarks of wonderful serviceis never having to ask for your drink to be refilled and the service was excellent. The food arrived quickly and hot. Everyonein my party was pleased with their meal. I would highly recommend this restaurant. Read more
