Rooms were too warm, dusty and the rugs and furniture was filthy. The food at the reception was delicious though. The... continental breakfast was a little disappointing. Bring a fan, windows cannot be opened and room was stuffy. There was a hugecoffee stain in the bathroom sink, but the shower was great. Lighting was not good to do hair and makeup. Belhurst Castle is a beautiful venue for a wedding. There is a spacious lawn overlooking Seneca Lake where one may have a... ceremony and cocktail hour in good weather. It is an excellent place for photos too. From there one may go inside to one of twoballrooms on site for the reception. The food served for the reception was average. One server was short with me when Imentioned that they removed our dessert forks before dessert. Coffee and tea service was self-serve. Read more
Room 106 is very tired, broken light fixture in the middle of the room. Musty smell and all windows need cleaning. Dined at... Edgar's and the service was very good, kitchen was spotty. I had the venison and while the meat was cooked medium rare, it wasdried out. French onion soup perfect. Continental breakfast was disappointing, stale packaged bagels and woefully inadequatetoasters. Hampton Inn or Holiday Inn can do good breakfast, why can't Belhurst? While the location is still beautiful, thisproperty doesn't even come close to four stars. On a bright spot, the winery gift shop and tasting area was pleasant. My friends and I celebrated a birthday here for wine tasting. The foliage was absolutely beautiful. The water views were so... siren and the wine and cheese tasting were awesome. We really enjoyed ourselves and would definitely go again. Our host Chrissywas the best and she very knowledgeable about the location and wines we would definitely return! Read more
If you are visiting the finger lakes region of NY then Belhurst is a must see location. I've never stayed there but Edgar's... restaurant is second to none. Food is next level as is the service. It simply doesn't get any better. Additionally the pricingis very reasonable for what you get. The location and view of the lake is spectacular. I was visiting Syracuse and drove the 60miles one way just to eat there again. Well worth it. Read more
Just stayed at White Marsh Manor. Wonderful experience with staff including housekeeping and wait staff at the eateries. Like... all service businesses, they are suffering from staffing constraints (slow food services) but the current staff was wonderful todeal with. I think the staff has and is also suffering from some very rude (not demanding, just plain rude) customers. Lovedthe setting, loved the building, loved the room. If you want the experience of staying in a grand historic property, this isthe place. If you think vinyl is luxury, bathroom counter top materials scream class status or Vegas is ultima, this isn't theplace for you. If you want to stay in a grand country house, these properties can't be beat. Absolutely loved it. The foodis great, servers very hard working. Read more
HORRENDOUS WINE TASTING! Please don't waste your time and money. Our hostess was very pleasant, answered all our questions but... the wines they offered were pure chemistry. If you like watered down grape juice you are at the right location but if you are aserious wine lover skip the tasting and just sit outside to enjoy the wonderful location and beautiful view! This establishment alone is breathtaking. I came here for a group wine tasting and at first there seemed to be some confusion... about our reservation. But it was quickly resolved and we were ushered over to begin our wine tasting. Afterwards we had someextra time to enjoy the outdoor patio, a couple of newly purchased bottles of wine, and the gorgeous views. I highly recommendstopping here on your wine trip! Read more
