Service was extremely slow, resturant wasn't crowded, wait staff busy doing other things like sweeping floors and disappearing... into the kitchen. Food was just okay, nothing spectacular. Plates were extremely hot like they sat under a heat lamp for morethan a couple minutes. We'll find some place else to eat next time we get a craving for Mexican food. Read more

Having lived in San Diego for 15 years I am very particular about my Mexican food. Sol Azteca is one of the few places I have... found in the area that feels like I'm back 10 miles from Mexico. I eat a lot of Mexican food. I love it, and this place made me love it even more. The Tortilla Soup is a masterpiece. This bowl... of soup was bountiful, not only in size, but also in girth. Evey si gle bite had chicken and tortilla strips and cheese. Thesoup felt like something you'd throw together in your kitchen (homestyle) but was also deeply complex and well balanced. Thestreet tacos were incredible. The tortillas were soft and folded easily over the bounty of chicken stuffed in them. The Tex-Mexfajitas were a dizzy array of meats and peppers and onions. Easily sharable, but trust me when I say, you'll want your own. Allof the serving sizes make you feel like your visiting your family. The staff were nice. The restaurant clean, and bright. Weheard them sing happy birthday to another patron -- talk about bringing the joy! This is the type of restaurant that celebratesit's culture and food. Out exploring, driving to Ocean city we stop by for some quick eats and drinks.. omg service is amazing shot out to everyone... there from kitchen to hostess! The Corona-Rita is the best drink experience. Margarita with a coronita extra makes it special! The complimentary salsa and... fresh chips are on point. We ordered the taco salad and carne esada steak tacos. Both were excellent. The only complaint we hadwas we waited for the check for an exceptional amount of time.
