Ordered directly from their website at 6:55pm on a Tuesday. I ordered manchurian chicken, house fried rice, chicken chowmein... and crispy beef. Simple enough right? My husband showed up at 7:30 to pick up and they told him 30 mins! There was no one inthe store and no orders up for delivery. Husband came back in at 8 and they just ignored him. He finally got the food at 8:15and asked what the delay was (we have kids who had to go to bed waiting for dinner), they offered no response except to ask ifhe wanted his receipt!!! 1.15 hrs for noodles, rice and chicken??? Absolutely ridiculous and the fact that they were notwilling to rectify it is silly. The food was meh the crispy beef was OVER FRIED and the darkest thing i had ever seen. It wasso hard, we couldnt chew it. The manchurian chicken was swimming in gravy (we didnt ask for extra gravy). The noodles and ricewere blah. We have lived in gtown for 20 years and this is the 1st and last time we'll order from here. Better off driving tomississauga for tasty real Hakka food. Read more
Amazing food! Such authentic flavours, great portion sizes and very flavourful! Only disappointing factor was their manchow soup... - it was green color - that’s not how traditional manchow soup is :). Would order again from here, definitely! Read more
We have never been disappointed by our take out from New Hakka Place. It is authentic Hakka food and very delicious. The portion... sizes are massive, and the meat portion in sauced dishes is generous (which is something that other places often lack). Theydon’t joke around with their spice if you request something spicy. If you are looking for American/ Canadian style Asiancuisine, not all menu items are going to fall into this category, as many dishes haven’t been Americanized (which, in myopinion, is a good thing). Very nice food and staff is very courteous and friendly. Portion size is awesome and you must try Beef Chilli & shrimp fried... rice. I’m a repeat customer at this place and recommend this place to everyone who wants to try Hakka Chinese. Read more
Eaten here 3 times, twice was good, once completely lacked salt. Wife ordered the veg momos and they were not the best. Won't... order those again. Ill give them another shot and hope the 3rd time was just a one off. Read more
Ordered twice - Lunch Specials General Tao and Chilli Chicken good portions - comes with veg soup or pop and spring... rolls. soup was good - really enjoyed it! could drink 2 of those! spring rolls - first time i got 1 the second time i got 2 -not sure why. they are very tiny - so two should be minimum General Tao - was good Chilli Chicken - was okay. i got noodlesonce - good but need a little more salt i think got rice the second time - was but mushy rice. didn’t go well with the chillichicken other than that - price is good as well! need try few main dishes next Read more
Great little Hakka restaurant in south Georgetown. We were welcomed with a smile, as soon as we sat, water and the menus were... given ??. We ordered the crispy beef, pepper shrimps and Manchurian chicken dry; the dishes came with a large bowl of whiterice. The shrimp was the best, tasty and really crispy; second was the chicken and the beef was good but not what we expected aswe have tried other Hakka places, perhaps was their sour sauce... Above all, we liked this little place, we’ll be back andexcited to try out other things in their menu. Very friendly service, soups were fantastic and portion sizes of everything was very generous. Reason for the 3 starts instead... of 5 is due to the cashew chicken I ordered... it was definitely not chicken. The appearance, taste and texture was lamb,possibly goat which is odd as they only have chicken, beef and shrimp on their menu... could have been beef I suppose, but 100%this was not chicken (large chunks of meat comprised of thick dark strands mostly attached to a thick rubbery band). Idefinitely ordered chicken and cashew chicken was written on the container. At least they were generous with the quantity and Ido actually like lamb & goat! However the sauce was also not very nice.
