Heard good things about this place, the atmosphere was nice and in a cute historical building. However it took us 3 hrs to get... through dinner even with knowing exactly what we wanted ahead of time before the waitress came to the table each time. Sheforgot our drinks a couple times and our bread, it was delicious though. I don’t think it should be an extra charge butthat’s another day. While we got sat before many others upstairs we were seen way later than others and tables left before useven though it was only 2 of us with simple orders, no dessert, never even offered it actually. We were afraid to ask cause ittook 30 mins to get even water. The biggest issues we had was the fact that all their prices are wrong, every item on our billwas at least 50-90 cents more than what it was listed for. It’s not about the price it’s about the principle of it, list theitem for the real price. This had nothing to do with tax either, a drink was listed for $11 on the menu but the receipt said$11.44 for an example, and we were also charged tax on top of their higher prices. It’s the oddest thing I’ve neverexperienced before, just be transparent guys jeez! Our entrees were good but not worth the 3 hour wait and mediocre service.Maybe be a while before we return here Read more

My hubs and I had an impromptu date night and decided to try Gumbo’s North on the Square. They only had the upstairs open and... there was live music playing. We really enjoyed our food which included crusty bread and garlic butter, chicken and sausagegumbo to start and I got the blackened shrimp. My husband got the catfish with dirty rice. The food was good, the service wasgreat and the atmosphere did feel like a local joint where people knew to come and have a drink and relax. We are new toGeorgetown and we love the square. Will def come back. Read more

The food and the service are both experiences you should have. The gumbo is so good here my cajun friends recommend it. Some of... my favorites are the pecan crusted chicken and the salmon with the chef potatoes. You will not be disappointed that you went toGumbo's on the Square. Read more

High quality food at a down to earth restaurant. The stuffed mushroom appetizer is AMAZING. We also had the shrimp and crawfish... pasta and the shrimp and beef pasta. Both top notch. Waitress was very attentive and friendly. Live music was pleasant and notto loud. We would definitely come back. Read more

I ordered the fried shrimp with vegetables and chicken and sausage gumbo. My husband ordered the fried catfish. All of that was... the absolute best. I think that was the very best fried shrimp I've ever tasted in my 60 years. And the live music was perfect.Loved it!!! But...we also ordered the expresso martini...was completely tasteless. We wondered if they forgot the vodka. And myapple brie cheese salad was tasteless, as well. I don't get it. Maybe they forgot the dressing? I would have said something, butI think they were extremely short on staff and the waiter was trying his best. Read more

An amazing experience is the best way to describe my first experience ever. Food was amazing, cooked to exact specifications,... amazing service, and great drinks. If I had any criticism it would be that 1. Drinks weren’t strong enough for me personally, and 2. I don’t remember my servers name, but he was awesome nonetheless! My only regret is that I have not experienced thisuntil now! Read more

Great place to have a great meal. The sunshine tenderloin with dirty rice was really good. The tenderloin was perfect. Be sure... to save room at the end for the key lime pie. A great finish to a great meal. Good service. Conveniently located on the squarein Georgetown. Big parking lot two blocks south if you can't find a spot on the square. Read more
