Today our experience was best described as a fail from the customer service point of view. We were at the restaurant around 745... or 8 PM and were one of three tables seated. We were the largest table at three people. Upon entering we had to wait nearly 5minutes for a hostess to walk to their station. After being seated it took 20 minutes for someone to take our beverage order.Immediately upon delivery of the beverages we ordered food, and it came in a reasonable amount of time. The server who took ourorder was polite but spoke extremely quietly so was hard to hear, especially over the din coming from the kitchen. Theatmosphere coming from the kitchen was unintelligible shouting, loud pan/pot related sounds, and hip hop starkly contrastingwith the country being played over the speakers. Nearly every employee was on smartphones and sharing content with each other.Unprofessional at the least. After eating, we had to seek someone out to pay our bill which took nearly 10 minutes. All toldthere were about 35 minutes of time wasted. We would have left, except for that we were all tired from a long day and it wasraining outside. All that being said the food was delicious and served appropriately quickly given how slow the restaurantwas. We have eaten here many times before and had never had an experienced approaching this one. It was frustrating,disappointing, and will make us question returning here going forward. I feel bad leaving a negative review but it's what it is. I'll start by saying that the food was great! However, the service was... beyond TERRIBLE! Got there, was told there'd be a 25 min wait. They didn't take our names... The restaurant was dirty and no onewas bothered to clean up after customers left the tables. I felt like I was in a dumpster ???? Service was UBER slow though ourwaitress tried to be as polite as possible. NOT dining there again. Milwaukee in general is just meh in service, in myexperience. Read more

You can literally see no ice in my iced peanut butter mocha. No sauce with the biscuit beignet?s. No apple streusel slice pie,... instead a chocolate brownie. I asked for maple syrup and did not even receive that with my three pancakes. Everything was coldas well. Truly dissatisfying. Read more

I wanted to warn the people that were being seated around me to not bother but I minded my own business. We waited just over an... hour to get our food, after being served the wrong tables order, and then hearing that table say that their food was cold. Sowas ours. They also forgot our fried apples, our biscuits and gravey and the donut like appetizers. My side of hashbrowncasserole was just smeared on my plate, old, and cold. The gravey was jellied like from a can. The eggs were half scrambled andcold and the French toast was bread in egg, fried. No cinnamon or powdered sugar. Rubbery bacon. It's like a glorified GeorgeWebb and honestly I think Webbs was better. I can't remember having a meal where nothing was good or fresh. I get beingunderstaffed, then you should seat accordingly. Don't fill all your tables if you can't cook for or serve them. Repeatcustomers stop coming, tip amounts go down, quality staff leave and the ability to buy quality ingredients diminishes with lowerprofits. This place was terrible. 100 percent. Read more

Our Server was Kevina W. I was at table 132. I was on a date. On Sunday. She was very kind to us and made sure we were doing... okay, and if we needed anything. She asked us about the food. The food tastes delicious as I knew it would. The food here isalways excellent as I remember. Clean. I love the General store. My only complaint is that I didn't give the accurate tip amountthat she needed. I thought I added more numbers for the tip at the cash register. I looked at my receipt when I got home and wasdisappointed. I apologize again. Servers work very hard and deserve good tips, especially when they give good service. Nexttime, I hope to see her and give her a big tip or any of your Servers. I wish her the best in everything. Read more

Multiple issues and wow I am stunned: Took 5 minutes to even be acknowledged at host stand (we were the only people in line... from entering to being sat) Host took us to a section full of dirty tables, turned around and took us to a dirty table thatclearly needed to be wiped and sanitized, set menus down and walked away. We sat, server did not come over for about 10minutes, said hello, then walked away. Manager eventually came over to take our order. Food took about 15-20 minutes, which wasfine. However, our server set HALF our order down. And put down the check and left. I received my check before we even gotsilverware for our meal. Not only did we have to ask for silverware and the rest of our meal after sitting there for severalminutes, she did the same thing to a four top next to us where a gentleman literally had to walk to the kitchen to get someoneto give their table silverware. The restaurant had 8 of about 40 tables sat including us for the duration of our meal. At least18 tables had to be cleared or wiped down when we sat. Astoundingly, I was still surrounded by tables that had yet to be clearedby the end of our meal. To add insult to injury, the last 15 minutes we listened to some sort of ringer/buzzer/phone ringnon-stop. No one stopped the sound prior to our departure. My biggest gripe with all of this, is that i counted 6 front ofhouse employees total in that restaurant. My entire stay at this restaurant had 7-8 tables sat. Youre telling me that nobody:could answer a phone? Bus tables? Sanitize tables? Greet people? Or even give people what they needed to eat the food theyordered? There are basic rules of running a restaurant, it takes multiple failures to get me to write a review. But this wasshockingly bad. Read more

Always wanted to check this place out and now that I moved to Milwaukee, I finally did! My salad was delicious and the bread... rolls were too! I love the idea of a gift store inside as well. Bought a birthday gift while I was there. The only thing Iwould say went wrong was the bathrooms. There were 5 stalls of which 1 was missing toilet paper, and there was another one thatthe door didn't have a lock on it. Other than that, great experience! Read more

Got a nice big steak, big salad, mashed and fresh fruit for about $14, was super good, also got a plum iced tea, that was really... good as well. Ocean was our waitress and she was working a lot of tables and did it all with a smile and was very nice. Thanks! Read more
