Visited for the first time on a recent Friday at 7pm. I really enjoyed my salmon dish with Parmesan risotto and sun-dried tomato... cream sauce. Great flavors, cooked well. My man enjoyed his fillet steak it was quality and cooked perfectly. Another guest inthe party has over cooked scallops paired with a tasty crab slaw. Another had the rabbit special but wasn't impressed. I enjoyedmy dish, but a few things about the service and vibe rubbed them the rest of the table the wrong way. Classic country club vibein the space. Beautiful outdoor patio covered with string lights. But the wait staff didn't match the decor, appearance wasnoticeably a bit sloopy across the group. Restaurant was less than half full. Heard this spot used to be vibrant and high end.Hoping this place gets the passion & customers back! Read more

Absolutely Exquisite food. Staff is courteous and professional. They did do some remodeling to their dining room. One side looks... casual while the other side is more formal. It used to be just on the formal side, linen napkins tablecloths Etc. The non-formalside has bear tables pull up chairs does not look as good as it used to. We sat on the patio. Absolutely beautiful. The foodmakes everything else pale in comparison. A must-try Read more

The outdoor seating area, near the pond is lovely; however, several times seating is not allowed due to different reasons. One... reason given is it has been reserved for a large group. That would seem to be a fib, as no large group appeared during our 2plus hours stay for dinner. Service was painfully slow and beverages were not delivered to our table for 20 minutes or so. Foodis not appetizing, especially the meat loaf. This is such a pleasing architectural property, but such a shame as these problemsmentioned, removes a desire to re-visit Read more

This restaurant is a classy restaurant with good quality menu options . I like that you can dress up and sit in the dining room,... or go a little more casual and sit on the patio or bar area. I think that the food is great quality, but maybe a tad pricey forsome options. I did like the dinner and drink menu, the atmosphere, and the history of the restaurant cards they have on thetable. I'll go back for sure, and hope to enjoy the patio, lights and music next time! Read more

Excellent lunch with friends! Wonderful menu selections for all palates. We shared the fried zucchini, which was great. Crispy,... not greasy with a nice marinara on the side. I have the blackened fish tacos which were very fresh and spicy. Sweet potato frieswere a perfect accompaniment. Others at the table had entree salads which were excellent as well as the chicken pot pie filledwith lots of breast meat. Pies and billionaires bar for dessert. All plenty big to share. Service was perfect, very attentivebut not annoying so. Will be back soon! Read more

The waiter was excellent. Most of the 6 people who dined enjoyed their meals. We arrived at 6:18 and were told, in no uncertain... terms, that our reservation was for 630 and we would not be seated until 630. I was ok with that except there was no other placeto sit so we had to try to avoid patrons and wait staff as they walked by. The entire time our seats to be, in the corner, satempty. I don't understand why we could not have at least been seated. We didn't need to be waited on until 630. We would haveunderstood that. The wait between the appitizers and the main meal was extensive. We did receive apologies from staff. However, they must be doing a lot of things right as the restaurant was very busy. I encourage anyone to give them a try. Their menuselections are many and selection varied. Read more

Very rude. We walked in the door and asked for seating and the hostess's manager acting as if we were inconviencing her. ... Luckily, she lightened up and was nice after. Must have been going through a stressful moment. The hostess was nice. Theoutside seating was gorgeous and peaceful with running water and fresh flowers. The food was good also. Read more

We called for a special occasion with family from Norway. This has been our go to restaurant and we have enjoyed the food. The... hostess was attentive and nice and gave us a beautiful table. The waitress was also helpful and attentive. The food however waspoor at best. We had 5 orders of pork chops that were dry and one was insufficiently cooked. Another meal was the chicken potpie that was like a cream soup with a puffed topping that just fell off. The last meal was a pasta dish where the amount ofpasta did not even fill the plate. We did not discuss this while we were there because we did not want to make our guests feeluncomfortable. This was the only dinner out that they had while in Pittsburgh. It was not up to the standards of the Pinesrestaurant that we know. We may not return if this is the level of quality now. Read more
