We called and we were assured that the patio was dog-friendly so we hustled over their. Gramma?s Marine Pub patio is not... dog-friendly. Dogs need to be tied up outside the patio and the only available table close by was a small one under an openstairway so our good would have been spiced with anything fall off from pedestrians? feet as they went up and down the stairs. Sadly we did not get a chance to dine here because the server was so unpleasant and rude to us that we felt like an... inconvenience. I honestly can't remember the last time I have experienced such poor customer service like this. We patientlywaited to be seated by the waiter who walked by us three times and ignored us. No, "hello I'll be right with you." Then,finally, he came up and said "There's really not anywhere for you to sit right now but you can sit there if you want to." Hepointed to an empty bench on the patio that wasn't even wiped. Then said, "I'll get to you at some point" So rude andunfriendly. The irony of the situation is they are hyper aware of Covid by still having the glass shields up, the waiter waswearing a mask that covered his face, sunglasses and we couldn't even see him. But yet, you want to seat us at a table thathasn't been sanitized or even wiped...Right. Makes perfect sense. We sat down for about thirty seconds and then decided we wouldnot be staying as we felt more like an inconvenience rather than a guest. Will not be returning. Read more

My family and I had such a great experience at Gramma's Pub on Saturday night! Our server Nikki went above and beyond to make... our experience great. When we arrived the restaurant was really busy so we sat inside and were told there was going to be 1.5hour wait on food. That was okay - we were just going to get drinks then (which were coming very quickly!). Nikki, our serverended up clearing a table off for us outside and moving us which we were so happy about because the view is great! Then she letus know the food wait was gone so that we were good to order whenever. We ended up staying for quite a white and tried lots offood and drinks. It was also my brothers bday and he ended up getting a free drink and meal which was so sweet! All of my familyagreed that we were very happy we ended up there and will definitely visit again! I love the patio: finally a place that is authentic and local, not built for tourists or all about branding; you can really... relax, watching the boats coming back, the sea, far from the mass of tourists. I enjoyed this 1st July sitting there. Thecalamari were amazing: tasty, with a wonderful tempura, light but crunchy at the same time. Hard to find calamari so good andI?m a fried calamari hunter all around BC. Fries where fantastic too. I don?t drink beer, I ordered only a Coke and it was areal Coke: in some places they give ice and water. This one was a Coke. The service: excellent. The person who served us wassuper polite and always present to take care of us. Not a common quality: a lot of servers usually look annoyed by guests butthis server was tranquil and attentive and knowing how to interact properly: not rushing us and not neglecting us. If not doneyet, I recommend to spend some hours of peace, relax, good food and drinks on the patio downstairs. Thank you, I reallyappreciated. Cozy pub and the food was great. Also a fantastic view ????????????
Food: Not great. The fish fritters were good, Caesar salad was average, and the red curry wings were oddly acidic. We also got... the clams, which were very small for the price. They ran out of several things on the menu by 6pm (before most of dinnerservice). The service: Our server was lovely, but clearly overworked and doing the best they could. The restaurant had twofloors of patios open, as well as an indoor dining space. Guests could enter at two places and there was no host downstairs. Ourserver was running food up and down the stairs as well as trying to serve the entire lower patio, and manage incoming guests.All in all, our visit was around 2.5 hours and we did spend a lot of that time waiting. Final Thoughts: For the quality &quantity of the food probably not worth the price tag. There is potential for this to be a great spot. The drinks were alrightand pretty quick out the door, the view was nice, and the staff were friendly. Unfortunately they were overwhelmed when wevisited, resulting in a disappointing experience. Fish excellent, Light batter with dill and generous portions! Chips barely so-so - soggy and cold. Worst Ceasar either of us... have ever had. Watered down with no flavor. Pricing was on the high side. The view earned it an extra star. Read more
