While travelling, we wanted some BBQ so I looked online and found this place, it looked good and had good reviews. I also saw... that I would need to get their early as they sell out of some meat. I thought getting there before 12 noon was early enough butthey were already out of chicken and brisket. Friendly and fast service! I got the pulled pork plate with chips and beans andmy wife got the rib plate with chips and Cole slaw. The meat was pretty average, not very hot, chips were good and so were thebeans. My wife said that the ribs were o.k., chips were good and the Cole slaw was just pretty runny and flavorless. All inall, it hit the spot but I would consider it pretty average. Read more

In Kentucky, as with every other southern state, each person has their favorite BBQ joint. J-Mack BBQ is not mine. But it does... deserve an honorable mention. Everything they do, they do well, including the customer service which is friendly, warm, andpersonable. I've had a lot of BBQ nachos over the years, but J-Mack takes it to another level. They add slaw & beans to the pileof chips, pulled pork, nacho cheese, bbq sauce, and jalapenos. They give you the option of having the nachos made withtraditional tortilla chips or with the J-Mack chips, which are homemade waffle cut potato chips with a barbeque seasoning onthem. Great little BBQ place. We stopped in while traveling for dine in but they do take-out and catering as well. The food was... pretty good over all. The ribs were juicy and tender. I didn't taste a lot of smoke but they had good flavor. The brisket wascut thick, with a defined smoke ring, good crust and very moist. The chicken was a little dry but it had good flavor and therub on the outside was great. The pork was a little disappointing, as it was cold and did not have a defined flavor and was alittle bland but adding their sauce worked great. The sauce was excellent and honestly will be great on anything you put it on. The coleslaw was good and complimented the meats well. The homemade chips were excellent and I ended up finishing the meal byputting their sauce on the chips. The biggest disappointment was the baked beans, seemed to come out of can, nothing special andBlah. Staff was great, service was good. portions and value for the dollar was good. Not bad BBQ. For something a little different I had the barbecued nachos with homemade potato chips that were well seasoned... without being overly salty. Coleslaw was good, but the baked beans tasted no better than something from a can. I enjoyed it, butmust comment that I found the pulled pork cooked way more than needed. Reminded me of chewing wet paper in texture rather thanslow cooked meat. A simple clean interior with kind and thoughtful wait staff. Sometimes first impressions aren?t always thebest so I definitely would give it another try. Read more
I had originally wanted some brisket but they ran out before the end of the night when we arrived. I had a pulled pork sandwich... that was average. It had coleslaw on top of it but not enough BBQ making it kind of dry. A side of beans and potato salad. Thebeans were just a can of Bush?s Baked Beans so nothing special.
