Eating out as a pleasure, and an experience. Something special and not just a convenient way to eat without the hassle of... preparing dinner. Great to have celebrated my birthday there, wish they were open year round as it would be a nice venue for aThanksgiving or Christmas celebration. Read more

Came here for our anniversary for the first time. Hadn't heard anything about it, but figured we'd give it a go. The restaurant... is nice and very spacious. Had great views of the river. The food was great, and not overly pricey. They had a good selectionof items on the menu, and also had cocktails. We ordered drinks, an appetizer, and entrees. Then the unexpected happened. Theybrought a plate of crackers and cheese spread to the table while we waited. What a nice treat. Especially since we also broughtour toddler along (which they were pleasantly surprised with the accommodations of a high chair, crayons, kid menu,etc.). Then, after the appetizer they brought out a massive "relish tray". Unbeknownst to us, this is apparently something theydo, and that patrons look forward to. This too was a welcome surprise. It had beets, cottage cheese, chickpeas, kidney beans, pickles, coleslaw, jelly, and more. This in and of itself was a meal. Then came our entrees and another surprise dish of greenbeans. So it seems they essentially give you a dish "on the house" with each course of meal (minus desert). This was all unknownto us since we've never been before. But it sure gave us a wow factor and a great dining experience. My single complaint, whichreally isn't one, is that I wish they offered the option to take the leftovers of the tray home. We were also the only tablethere under the age of 55. Ha. Service was also great, and we'll definitely be back! Read more

Old Mill... This one truly puzzles me. There are so many glowing reviews for Old Mill and our experience didn't really match any... of that. Don't get me wrong, this was in no way due to the wait staff! The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Butpretty much everything else about this experience was par or below. We arrived and entered into what initially looks like asmall gift shop. This area is decorated with very out of date decor (and this will continue to be a pattern for the rest of theestablishment) and I at first wondered if we were at the right place. We were greeted withing 60 seconds and we waited about 5minutes to be shown our table, into a big dining room that was also filled with outdated decor, contributing to a very 50's (andnot in the charming way) atmosphere. Now, I can get over the decor if the food is good. The menu consists of a bunch ofdifferent options ranging from steaks and roast beef, to chicken, a cheeseburger option and seafood, to appetizers of mushroomcaps and escargot. For a fine dining establishment, the menu is somewhat all over the place. I ended up ordering the ChickenOld Mill, with the other members of my party ordering the ribeye and the Ratatouille. Now, each of the entrees comes with asoup or salad, rolls, a starch (baked potato this visit), a vegetable (green beans this time), and a "relish tray". The relishtray is honestly enough food for a party of four to have as THE meal. It is wildly unnecessary for that much to be on the trayfor any less than 8 people and I can't see it as anything less than a money pit by serving that much to smaller parties. To givecredit where it's due, the dinner rolls were very good, having both standard and a light cinnamon roll option in the basket, andthe soup of the evening, Lentil, was tasty as well. The entrees, sadly, were underwhelming across the board. The Ribeye wascooked perfectly, but lacked any type of seasoning. The ratatouille was par for the course and the chi Read more

My absolutely favorite restaurant! The service, the food, the surroundings are the greatest. Had my daughter's rehearsal dinner... there in August, there were 20 of us, the staff was the best and so kind, and patient with us. Going again today for mybirthday. Would highly recommend this restaurant to all! Read more

Came for lunch after church on a Sunday. The wait staff was very nice, the appetizers were great, and the view of the river out... the large windows was great for the kids. The food was pretty generic but inoffensive and the dining area could really usingsome modernizing. All in all it was a good eating experience. Read more

If you enjoy delicious home cooked meals and impeccable attention from the waitstaff then I highly recommend this restaurant.... Not only is the view of the river ???????? But the atmosphere harkens to a big age to the past. If you enjoy historic buildingsthen this place is also for you! The portions are huge! There is also a kids menu for the little humans to enjoy with some ofthe BEST chicken fingers I have ever had. Read more
