Reviews for Chimney Rock Inn in Gillette, NJ
This used to be called Chimney Rock and they rebranded. They also changed the pizza and the crust is now clearly not handmade it... tastes like a flat bread cracker and is factory cut in perfect circles. The fries are different too. Liked the old menu better. This used to be our favorite local pizza spot for years. Read more
Can't complain about our server. She really felt bad. We waited 2 1/2 hours for 2 pizzas. Appetizers came out 1 at a time after... we asked 3 or 4 times for them. Server had to take one of the pies out of the to go side. It was cold. In the middle of eatingwe were asked if we wanted the pizza to go. Not going back. Read more
I’m not sure what is going on with this place recently…Since it changed its name, I have been there twice (ordering for... takeout) and both times they have messed up the order. First time they gave me a plain burger with nothing on it when I orderedthe cowboy burger and then the second time I ordered the shredded brisket tacos, and never received the avocado salsa…??Isanyone checking these orders, based on previous reviews it seems to be a reoccurring issue…I would say it’s good food butmake sure you check your order, shame on me I guess for assuming they wouldn’t mess up again… Read more
Great pizza and beer! Good tavern-like interior and atmosphere. Suitable place for large groups.
The food here is good and we found the wait staff to be, for the most part, attentive. However the last few times we ate here,... the sangria i ordered was awful. Watery and tasteless. For the price I paid, it should not have been tasting like Kool Aid. Changing the name to VINTAGE TAVERN was strange. Why mess with a good name? Read more
Calling them a disgrace would be a compliment. I have asked for mayonnaise on the side of my burger on multiple occasions and... they ignore the instructions every single time! A cheap establishment that has staff that could not care less. Put some heartinto your food! Pathetic. Side note, not sure what made you think I would enjoy this nasty piece of tomato in my pasta. A 6 yearold would have done a better job. Read more
Chimney rock is a classic Berkeley Heights diner and every middle schooler growing up knows about it. I tried it for the first... time recently and it was pretty good. The portions are generous and the dishes taste good. 4 stars. These dishes are definitelynot meant to taste beyond what people can make at home. Read more
We sat in the bar to play trivia. Our server was bubbly and attentive; she made sure we were never thirsty. My quesadilla was... delicious, and my table-mate's pizza was as well. Margarita was good, decent beer selection. Read more
