First time here was lovely. Such nice service and great ambience. Menu is on the pricier side and very eclectic options to... choose from. Spacious outdoor seating with heaters above each table on the patio. Local music and entertainment in the pub madeit feel like we were across the pond! Very popular with the older folks. Excited to go back for a drink. Read more

My 3 star post is based on the automatic 20% gratuity that was added to my check. I apologize for my long review but I wanted it... to be detailed and thorough so you can reach your own conclusions. I used to live in Glen Echo and I have been coming to IrishInn At Glen Echo since 2009. I now live in Honolulu and Arlington. Since my return I have visited this restaurant twice in aweek. Last week with friends and today alone. The food and drinks today were delicious as usual. The pear and pomegranate saladwith champagne dressing was so good that I ordered 3 servings of it. The salmon I got on the side of the salad was one of thebest salmon I have ever had. It was so fresh, perfectly seasoned and grilled. Had the most delicious glass of apple martini. Noone makes better apple martinis anywhere in the US. I ordered the strawberry lemonade just to taste it and it was delicious butI still prefer my apple martini. I ordered the flour-less chocolate cake for dessert. The waitress, Valarie, who was justlovely, allowed me to substitute a scope of the Irish Bailey's ice cream instead of the vanilla ice cream. The homemade IrishBailey ice cream was to die for and I ended up ordering a second serving of just the Bailey ice cream. Now for the bad part. Ialmost always dine alone because I travel extensively throughout the US for work. Having worked as a server in college, I neverleave less than 25% tip and I usually leave between 30% to 35% to compensate the wait staff for taking up a table since I'musually dining alone. If it is a small order/check I will usually leave 50% tip. When I got the check I was shocked to seealmost 20% gratuity was automatically added. There were 2 waitresses who helped me. And I was just going to sign the check, addan additional gratuity and leave. But I had that horrible feeling in my stomach that I was being singled out. Since I wassitting outside, I asked the tables around me if any of them were being charged an automatic gratuity and the Read more

Service was a little slow. Fish and chips ok. Could've been better with 5 pieces of fish and less fries for the price. Always... offer malt vinegar. Cole slaw recipe has to be changed. (Please update your menu prices online.) Read more

After calling to see if there was seating for 5 in the covered patio and told to come now for seating. We arrived and were told... the patio did seat 5 and needed reservations. We were sent to picnic tables under canopies. The canopy poured water all over usand the table. We were drenched. They covered a wine and a beer. .If you are, seating folks outside then assure thecustomers will be safe and protected. Wait staff was helpful. Front of house mannager lacks skills for customer service Read more

What a great place to have a dinner! We went with a group of four, and all of us enjoyed the food. My burger was delicious! The... place is unique - used to be an Inn, and has a great ambiance of the historical place, but not overpriced at the same time. Youcan’t beat the combination of the location, prices, and friendly service. We will come again! Read more

My first time here! This was a great place with beautiful decor and great food! The best part for me was hearing a group of... Irishmen talking with their rich accent. It made it even more enjoyable. We'll definitely be going back! I had the corned beefand cabbage and a cosmo. My husband had a shepherds pie with salad and bourbon. Both were very good. Not overly priced! Read more

We're not from the area and saw the signage as we were driving past.. We're drawn to Irish pubs/restaurants. So, we just... stopped in for a quick late afternoon drink. The bartender was very nice, funny, and engaging. Service/staff was top notch, aswere the adult beverages. And the decor (in the bar, at least) was Irish and welcoming. I don't know what it is: I can make aJameson & Ginger Ale with lime at home, but it never tastes as good. And this bartender made it perfectly! And we're notGuinness drinkers except for the Guinness Blonde. They have it on tap. Was good. At first I was a little taken back by the listof non-Irish fare on the menu. But they did delegate a section to "Traditional Irish Fare." Though it's a good 90 minute drivefor us, we're planning on a return visit. We'll post again once we've sampled their Irish Fare. Read more
