My wife wanted to try somewhere new for dinner tonight and she picked this restaurant. We couldn’t have been more blown away.... We had the arugula black bean salad and I had the duck breast. This was the best meal I’ve ever had. The service wasoutstanding. Our drinks never ran empty and the server was attentive but not overly. Absolutely horrible experience tonight. Went for a nice dinner date with Hubbie and we were told over an an hour wait for a... table, OK, wt may consider waiting. I asked if we could sit at the empty bar and order food there; Hostess/Manager said we canonly have drinks and no food allowed at the bar. So we left. My friend called minutes after we left and asked if they had seatsat the bar available and was told yes. She asked if they could also order dinner at the bar and was also told yes. Had dinner for the first time at Glen Prairie, after living in the neighborhood for five years. Outstanding from soup to nuts.... The service was engaged and informed. knowing the ins and outs of the menu, assisting and suggesting but never pushing upgradesor rushing to turn over the table. This lies in stark contrast to the indifference and ignorance found among many servers atother local restaurants who seem like they would rather scramble back to the beverage station and check their Tik Tok account.The music was subdued and pleasant and complimented the table talk, versus most restaurants which play contemporary pop or hiphop at a deafening volume, distracting the guest from the taste and smells and textures of the food and interfering withconversation. (The American public cannot tolerate silence, neither when dining, shopping, or working out at the fitnesscenter.) The food was a quantum leap level most restaurants pretending to be of the same caliber, the rib eye and the ribs weretender and tasty, the vegetables cooked al dente perfection, and the portion were 'Goldilocks', neither microscopic, lookinglike speck on a plate, not the size a manhole cover, and we left sated and satisfied, not stuffed and somnolent. Still offering GF options is a plus, but the quality of the food and flavors have really gone downhill from several years ago.... Used to be happy to pay the premium price for their delicious meals, but recently felt ripped off with lower quality offerings.The difference is way obvious. We stopped in for dinner last night at Glen Prairie. What a wonderful experience! Kat greeted us, bartended for us (Cider &... Bubbles and The Perfect Martini), waited on us, and made sure we had a great and relaxing time. Our cocktails and dinners wereabsolutely delicious (I had the Scottish Salmon and my husband had the Ribeye Steak dinner)! We were blown away by howspectacular everything was. Nice spot to grab some food. Good sized menu, and many gluten free options for gluten intolerant customers. Server was very nice... with helpful tips. The food was locally sourced. They food tasted fresh and was flavorful. The green beans were a little toohard for me and the fish entree didn’t fill me up. For $25 entree I wanted to be at least full. Overall a nice experience!
