We love Coming here, the food is exquisite, the atmosphere is something I've never experienced in my entirety. Adam is... definitely one of the best bar managers. I enjoy our conversations always asks how we are doing and actually cares about ourwell being. The restaurant and bar is beautiful and you have a fantastic view. The staff is very nice and professional. Unfortunately the... food is not great. I keep going back every year expecting it to get better but it never does. The menus is uninspiring and haslimited choices. We had lobster sprig rolls which had no flavor and was like eating latex. The seafood pizza was just ok, thechicken started out good but towards middle was dry and overdone, you get 2 small potato spears that were unappealing and thefish was plain. For the price atmosphere and view it was frankly terrible. They need a real chef with imagination and experienceto go with the price and setting. There are far better restaurants in town to go to. I travel all over the country for work andeat at many good restaurants, this one isn’t one of them. Read more

One of my all time favorite restaurants to go for an outdoor dining resort experience right in Gloucester. Absolutely love the... seating outside and the beautiful views, and the food is incredibly fresh. Sometimes portions may be smaller, and that's whatyou're signing up for with high quality food! Wonderful food, great ambiance and excellent service. We ate on the deck for lunch, the haddock was excellent however the fried... calamari was less so.. It contained green olives and chorizo which did not interact well with the main ingredient... Thecalamari. Read more
I had a romantic dinner on the deck of the 1606 restaurant the other night. It is very European to sit outside even on a cooler... night with blankets. I had a shrimp risotto (gluten free) Unfortunately it is only an appetizer size and they couldn’t makeit bigger for me to have this as my main course. It tasted heavenly. I ordered a gluten-free burger and Caesar salad after . Iwas happy they were able accommodate my gluten-free request. They have a good selection of wine to choose from. The view andthe atmosphere is absolutely incredible. As they had two functions that night they don’t take reservations. We had about anhour wait to get a table. It is a super fun place to go to. Anniversary dinner for the win. We were seated in front of the windows inside; the view was perfect and romantic. Tables were... not SUPER close together so you can enjoy your personal space. Got the regular seafood tower to start. Everything was perfectand fresh; just enough for 2 people. Cocktails were that perfect mix of stiff, but delicious. Disappointed in myself I don'thave pictures of the entrees, but FINALLY a place that didn't ask me how I wanted the tuna steak cooked. Sesame crusted tuna wasseared to perfection on the outside and deliciously raw on the inside WITHOUT having to ask. A dish I will remember till thenext celebration. My husband's rave - "Best scallops I've ever had". And I will agree. Finished our tab and were so struck bythe sunset we grabbed another drink at the bar with leather couches. Waited for someone to leave the rocking chairs along thewire fencing on the deck where we finished off the night. Views and vibes were perfect for enjoying an entire romantic eveningin one spot.
