Incredible quality and so much fun! This beats Boston Omakase any day. Loved the mix of local and imported seafood.

My initial intentions were to take the photos of every course I received. This was a big fail because food was so good that I... couldn’t resist eating everything immediately. There’s no need leave new England anymore to eat authentic edomae stylesushi. Chef Sang Lee and his staff provides an experience that is on par with any Michelin starred restaurant that you can goto. During each course, every piece of nigiri is highlighted without the extra unnecessary accompaniment of gold flakes oroverpowering truffle oil. The fish is highlighted in this restaurant. Every piece of seafood is sourced with locality andauthenticity in mind. New England is a huge source of amazing seafood and Sang makes great use of this. The omakase was pacedperfectly, the atmosphere was relaxing, enjoyable, and not pretentious at all. You can even get yourself a nice bottle of sake(ranging from $20-90) at the wine store which is connected to the restaurant as you enjoy your omakase. Sophia, the host andpresenter of each course, was very knowledgeable and personable! I have nothing but great things to say about thisestablishment. The pride they take in their space radiates, and it makes you want to book another reservation immediately. Read more

This place has amazing food, and the chef takes so much care. You really can't beat eating sushi in Gloucester, where the tuna... and other fish comes right off the boat. What an amazing experience! Read more

So to say the experience at Sushi Sang Lee is next level, almost seems like an understatement. And I must stress, it is the... whole experience, not just the food (prep and quality!) When you slide into the dim lit parking lot out back, trying to fundthe entrance, you get a whole " speak easy' vibe. You walk into the counter, with 8 seats for the whole restaurant, all in fullview of the magic to come from Chef Sang. The 15 course meal was truly amazing, but brought to new levels by the explanation ofingredients, technique, sourcing, and more. Both by Chef Sang and also Sofia. Their knowledge was unparalleled. Anyone thatenjoys Sushi knows it is about the fish, the freshness, the prep and how it is cut. Seeing Chef Sang in his element proves this.On top of it, seeing his unique methods (from his house made Soil Sauce, to his Eel sauce, seasoning, curing, use of Kelp, andmore) show how truly special the meal you're eating is. If you are able to make it happen, it is worth it. 100% worth everypenny. And I will encourage, TRY everything. if you do not think you like mackerel, or Uni, or Salmon Rowe - it is important topoint out, every piece he prepared was better than like ones I have had in other restaurants, and none met pre conceivedbeliefs. Omakase means " I will leave it up to you", or basically, you're putting your trust in the chef. Please trust ChefSang And Sofia in their direction. listen, absorb, and eat how they recommend. The meal flows, is delicious, and everything isdone in an order for a reason. The Meal, the food, and the experience with Chef Sang is all well worth it, and I would 100%recommend to anyone who can. It will be THE sushi experience of your life! Read more

I am thrilled to share the best omakase in New England. I've been to plenty of popular omakase restaurants in Manhattan or in... Japan, but this is the place I regularly visit despite the two hour drive. I have to applaud Chef Sang Lee's devotion to servethe best quality food based on his philosophy, which leads to the artistic presentation of sushi. I really like the uni, scallops, saba maki, and toro Chef Lee provides, but everything that is presented will give you the full omakase experience thatmay change your viewpoints on food as a whole. Highly recommend! Read more

Let me try to be very objective here. One of the best sushi restaurants in New England. I had a pleasure of having Chef Lee’s... Omakase for the end of year gathering with my friends last year. It was just so good that I have been craving for his sushiafter that. Today, I drove literally 2 hours round trip(from Boston suburb to Gloucester) to pick up his omakase sushi. Again,no disappointment at all. Very delicate and I can feel/taste his professionalism towards his craft/work. I, myself is aprofessional for my work, and I can really feel that he takes his work seriously to deliver his best to his clients. Thanks tochef Lee again. New England is very fortunate to have such a great sushi chef. Read more
