My bf and I went last night for a date night, hands down we had an amazing evening. We had the crab and spinach dip ? omg it... was fantastic with the fried wontons. Drinks were awesome, dinner was great and our waitress was the best. I wish I rememberedher name. Definitely will be back next date night. Read more

I sat at the bar eating a light dinner. Didn't know that I'd need reservations and it was full on a weeknight. The food was very... good & the bartender very nice to talk with, even as busy as she was. I'll go back with my sweetheart and have a nice dinnersoon! I'd recommend this lovely little place. Excellent steak. Perfectly cooked. Wonderfully flavorful mushrooms and mashed potatoes. The wild mushrooms and pasta was less... flavorful than we would have preferred. Overall, an excellent experience. Read more

Lulu Birds Kitchen is my favorite place to visit in Gloucester for a date night. Every time we?ve visited it?s always been... exceptional service and the food is perfect every single time. Tonight I asked our waitress for the most dry red wine. Herrecommend was spot on to what I was looking for. I also ordered the 10oz Filet Mignon. Shout out to the chef because it wascooked perfectly and was delicious. The restaurant is also kid friendly and offers a variety of kids meals. Highly recommendthis place. It?s a gem to have in Gloucester! Read more

We?ve been to LuLu?s many times and love the food. Tonight, we called to make a reservation - were told they are not taken and... it was all walk-in. So we drove 30 minutes to get there and were asked if we have a reservation! We said no and we?re told itwould be 45 to 60 minutes and our name was put on a list. 20 minutes of wait and we went to the hostess to check our place onthe list. Were then told they were not taking any more people (2 hours from closing) and our name had been taken off the list.Thank goodness we checked. Needless to say, we won?t likely be coming back. The restaurant is lovely and pleasing to the eye. Warm wood and cool blue, green and gold upholstery. The drinks, the wine,... great, and then there's the food! Our appetizers could have been dinner but we had to try more. Tuna with wasabi cream sauce, red snapper and a beautiful rib eye steak. Then their chocolate silk pie. Fantastic! Our server, Kayla, was knowledgeable on thefood, wine and history of the building. All in all a wonderful experience; we'll be back. Read more

Let me start by saying that I have not yet left a bad review for anyone because I know the impact that reviews have on... businesses. However, this place does not even deserve a single star. This place was a recommendation by a nearby inn owners thatwe were staying in (the inn by the way was fantastic). A person in our party had an allergy to garlic and onions. When weinformed our waitress (the waitress seemed experienced because she was training a new waitress) of this she said that that isnot a problem and that none of their dishes have any onion or garlic in them. This was a pleasant surprise (most places in thearea cook everything with onion and garlic) and we were very excited and decided to stay and this is where it all went downhill. After placing the order for the appetizers (which we were re-assured contained no garlic or onion) the waitress came back withthe chef/owner of the restaurant. He, very curtly and rudely informed us that almost everything, on the menu, contains garlicand/or onion. He did not give us options of what could be altered to make it without onion or garlic, it seemed as if he wasoffended that we informed him of this allergy. Then, we finally settled on salmon. While the owner/chef was still present at ourtable, we wanted to let him know how we would like the salmon cooked to which he rudely answered "you're going to tell that toher," and pointed at the waitress. In hindsight, that was extremely rude and unprofessional because the salmon that we receivedhad nothing in common of how we requested it. As an additional bonus, we had a full glass of water spill on our table, it wasunclear who spilled it, either the waitress while putting down one of our plates or someone at our table, nonetheless, thespilled water was not cleaned up. There was an attempt made by a teenage busboy to clean it up but he did not manage to do so,so the person in our party who was sitting in the spot where the water was spilled had to eat her meal at a t Read more
