DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY! We drove an hour to go to dinner at Barnacle Bistro because a friend recommended it. After reading the... very mixed reviews we decided we would try it out. It was a very WINDY evening so we chose to sit inside. Our waitress Beckywas very put out that I asked not to sit in the tall chairs (due to health reasons). I put that out of my mind and we sat downat the table where she pointed to. The wind was whipping my hair around and I couldn?t read the menu so I closed the window abit and ordered my food. I love fish and chips. I was excited to try a new place. I ordered the fish and requested garlic fries(which is also my favorite). Our food came fairly quickly and noticed my fish perched on my fries. I know from other experiencesthat this results in soggy fries so I quickly separated everything. Too late. My fries were already soggy (under cooked!). Flavor was good-ish very under salted. I picked up my fish and liquid drained onto my plate I used my napkins to soak it up asnot to make my already soggy fries worse. This is when Becky comes by and flings my window back open. And says we need this opento get air to the kitchen. I say but my food will get cold with the wind blowing on it. She blows me off and my husband suggestsI move over to his side of the table where I sat and ate my $19.00 cold soggy fish and fries. If this is the ?BEST FISH ANDCHIPS IN GOLD BEACH? We were a larger group. They don't have large tables. We were offered two smaller tables which was fine, but we were informed we... would be charged a mandatory gratuity for being a large party... I am ok with this when we can be sat together and share disheslike a larger party generally does, but when separated this does not make sense to me as we are not able to do that. That beingsaid mandatory gratuity to me makes no sense because they are undertipping themselves from what I normally tip anyway. Theapproach was the bigger issue in this case. Our waitress was great. The food was good. If we were local we would go backdespite the approach at the beginning. The fish and chips (we got the garlic fries) were delicious. Garlic fries were amazing!The coleslaw had little to no dressing on it was the only downside to the meal. Read more

Angel met is with a smile and told is to seat anywhere we like. Her coworker Jason was running the grill. We can't say enough... about how much we enjoyed the food, homemade in house and delicious AND the service was perfect. Check this place out, bepatient they are just an army off 2 battle your hunger for you. Read more
As we traveled the coast it was time for lunch. We looked up what was around town and decided to try this spot. We started off... with clam chowder! Wow. That was the best clam chowder we've ever had. It had the perfect amount of spices. Fresh deliciousclam in every bite. I would come back just for this chowder. Then we ordered The honey mustard bacon jalapeño white cheddarburger and garlic asiago fries. Everything was very good. We got lucky because they're going to be closing till mid Februaryafter tomorrow. Read more
Candied Jalapeno Burger & Garlic Fries are absolutely delicious! the meat, the cheese and jalapeños, the bun? yum! with all the... fresh fixings on the side to build it to your liking & then those garlic fries? yum x 10! Side note if you really want a happyending try their desert that?s listed on their ?Specials? board above their kitchen area. This trip we shared a cream brûléethat was out of this world delicious! thank you so much for everything & well done. We travel to Gold Beach about 4 times ayear to actually relax for a long weekend and to make a trip to the Barnacle Bistro, it?s that good. From the seafood to theland creatures and all the fixings & sides it?s as fresh and preservatives free as it gets, mine & my family?s sensitivestomachs all agree with this. The service has always been excellent & very personable which we really appreciate & the diningarea is a good spot to continue our relaxing and enjoy some mellow tunes & an amazing meal, it?s all good at the Bistro. We went here during the ?off season? in late December and were informed there was only one employee working front of the house... and one cooking in the back. We were very surprised by how quickly the food came and that it was hot given the limited number ofemployees. I ordered the special which was cioppino and was very pleased with the amount of crab. The stew was delicious andthe amount of toasted bread served with it was generous. Others at the table had a hamburger and fish and chips. The hamburgerwas decent, but nothing exciting. Very clean, friendly staff. Only a waitress and the cook there, due to staffing issues but they did a good job. I had the... candied jalepeno burger with garlic fries and Better Half had the pulled pork with blue cheese sandwich. The burger was good.The garlic fries were clearly not freshly made and dry. The blue cheese was very light on the sandwich. Overall a decent placeto eat for the prices, which were very reasonable. Read more
