We stopped here on our mini-vaycay to gold beach. We enjoyed the view- watching seals and otters swim in the river. We also... thought the food was great! My hubs ordered the top sirloin, it was cooked right and needed no extra steak sauce, and I orderedthe chicken mushroom fettuccine. I added a bit of salt and pepper to mine because I like a decent amount of both of those, haha,but it was still good without those. The waitress was super sweet as well. The Landing was recommended by a local shop owner. Upon entering, we were happy with the warm, cozy atmosphere. I ordered the... special, surf and turf. New york and shrimp, my wife, chicken and mushroom pasta. It was snowing and the outside landscapelights illuminated the flakes beautifully. It seemed like it took a long time to get our food. When it arrived, I had 5 or 6small, like salad shrimp small, overcooked shrimp on my steak. The steak look good, however when I began chewing, it wasovercooked, full of gristle and offered little flavor. They up charged me $3 for the chowder, even though soup was included withthe dinner. The chowder had a good flavor, with large chunks of clam, but had a consistency like cottage cheese. The bakedpotato was old or overcooked and was barley warm. My wife said that her pasta was good. Our waitress was friendly. In my opinionthere are better options in town. We won't be back. Sorry. Read more
We had a great time compared to some of the other reviews. We had a great server, entertaining, thorough and exactly as expected... on the amount of time. The food was good, the views were worth it. It's not a classy place nor a dump, it was comfortable andrelaxing as a place should be. You know before you walk in as to whether you want the upbeat sports bar or fancy joint ortypical cafe, no pretentious nonsense. We enjoyed it! As tourists we won't be back but we do recommend the next tourist! Read more
