Yummy mexican food. Savory beans. Rice was a touch dry, but the meat was delicious as was the tortilla soup. First time I've had... one that wasn't chicken based. Was tasty. My wife and I had a wonderful time at the Island Restaurant. It is in a great spot in Golden and the patio offers great views of... the surrounding mountains. Our server was excellent and very knowledgeable about the menu. The pakora appetizer was incredibleand unlike anything we have ever had. The elk rissole was out of this world and was a dish that certainly draw us back to therestaurant in the future. The drinks were also incredibly well priced (my beer was only $5 for a local craft beer). Weabsolutely loved our dinner here and look forward to returning again someday. Read more
I was there in early July of 2022 on a Thursday. The place was busy and we were told the wait time would be 45 minutes for a... table of four. But it was fairly busy at other restaurants around 6:30pm. We were lucky that the outdoor area had a table openand we didn't have to wait. If felt like forever from the time we ordered our food to getting our food. It was like 2 hourslater but we were also in Golden just to chill, relax and majority of the places are close at 9pm anyways. The food tastesgreat, the service was good but wait for the food not that great. By the time we were done eating, we were one of the lastcustomer and they were already closed. I had their special on that day and a soda pop - total was $33.88. The server was veryhelpful and informative, we mentioned that we were going to the Wapta Falls tomorrow and she said it is an easy hike and thather 4 year old son could do it. located by the kicking horse River, this two floor restaurant has woody exterior and interiors and is a pleasant place to be for... drinks and a full meal for couples, friends and families. The staff are super friendly and the menu is pretty ranging, frompizzas to Mexican specials, and some soups and salads. I ordered the bbq chicken cilantro pizza and it was rather tasty. cheesehas this unique local taste, whilst the cilantro and bbq combo was ????. My partner ordered the Mexican special which was beefenchilada. this was served reheated as the beans and rice was a little dried out. It was pretty OK but considering it was aspecial, we would have expected a little better quality. overall a worthwhile visit for a decent menu. Prices are OK. Read more
This is one of popular restaurants in Golden . We ordered pasta and soup . Everything tasted great. The chocolate mouse was... great too. They have menu with great variety . Nice , efficient staff. This on the main road easy access and has ample space. Read more
Had to wait for almost 2 HOURS for this NOT WORTH THE WAIT foods. They had trouble in the kitchen? There were other tables had... the same problem. First they sold out the steak we ordered and the long wait and then the food was not great( the soup wassalty, ordered medium rare but got well done, and the pasta uh I can?t say more).
