The original place we wanted to go was booked solid so we tried Rockwater. This turned out to be a blessing in disguise. Our... initial impression was that the place is just your typical pub/greasy spoon but to our delight it was definitely not. I had thefish and chips and they were amazing. Wife had a burger and it was top notch as well. You can really tell the the chef's/cookstake pride in their work. Our server was also excellent. It took over an hour for our food to arrive after we ordered it. My group and I ordered the butter chicken poutine, vegan... artichoke dip, their pasta of the day, and the steak dish. Taste was pretty mediocre and my chicken was cold. Also, if you wantto eat outside, put on some bug spray. We started getting bit multiple times by mosquitoes. Would not eat here again. Read more

Chose this place at random while stopping in Golden - was not disappointed. The owner was our server and he was awesome. Very... chill and friendly. Good selection of beers and their Cesar was bomb - packed a punch. Had the reuben, which they brine andsmoke in house, definitely recommend. Fries were super crispy and seasoned well. 10 out of 10 for sure. Read more
First restaraunt I tried in golden and was pleasantly surprised. The inside of the bar itself is a little dark and dingy, but... generally it was clean so no complaints there. He was too smoky to sit out on the patio but that looks like it would be theplace to be. They had a couple of non-alcoholic beers to choose from and the Rueben was not too bad - they smoke thier own meatin house. Service was great. You can tell that this is a place that has a lot of regulars from town as we saw a lot of peoplemeeting up Friday afternoon as they came from work. Read more
Wonderful lunch on the patio looking out onto the river. Food was excellent and our server was a pleasure.
