Is Cafe 13 too popular for it?s own good? Maybe, but with Golden being a trendy local getaway spot, this is a solid choice to... start the day off right. Great flavor innovations on the bakery front with good coffee to match. If the outside seating ispacked out, make sure to check inside, might have to fight through some lines, and there are spacious rooms in back. Read more

I used to go to Cafe 13 almost every weekday. It was my top recommendation to others looking for a cafe or place to grab food... together. It was a great environment to settle in, hang out, have meetings and get some work done. Now I still occasionallycall in orders to go because a lot of the food is ridiculously good. But the wait times for just going there to dine in orsettle at a table to work have become downright inexcusable. Staff moves at a leisurely pace and a line that would take anotherestablishment ten minutes to cruise through takes them half an hour or more. It seems the place has gotten comfortable withtheir following and has no issue with making people wait and wait. Strongly recommend management step up and address thisproblem in a meaningful way; it's affecting reviews and customer loyalty. I've seen a pattern in this review section ofshifting blame or otherwise denying responsibility when reviews mention the wait time. But the truth is, this problem can beaddressed. Give some attention to staff culture (productive and efficient!), specify clear expectations (what is a respectfulwait time to ask of the average customer? What specific things can employees do to meet that wait time?), and put some focusinto streamlining the process. Cafe 13 has too much to offer to not do better than this. Read more
The coffee was very good, I had a lavender latte with oat milk and the baristas were very personable. The location is great and... the building is beautiful. Only 4 stars because the avocado toast bordered on inedible/repulsive. I'm not sure if the avocadothey used was just overly ripe but it had a distinctly fishy flavor. It was served on plain sandwich bread and there was nothingreally memorable about it other than the taste of fish, definitely not worth the 10+ dollars they charge for it. I would goback for the coffee but definitely not the food. Read more
Super cute place with great food! When you walk in go up to the counter and order your food, then they will give you a number.... Finding a seat can be a little tricky inside but they also have outdoor seating. Portions are on the smaller side but OMG arethey delicious! We'll be back to try the Chi tea and a pastry! Read more
Love the atmosphere, staff, and food at Cafe 13. If you're looking for a really good baked good or a nice breakfast burrito or... super lunch, this is the place for you. The owner does such a good job of supporting her staff. This is truly a small businessthat deserves local support. Now I'm a little biased on the pictures that I posted because my daughter is an artist and came upwith these stickers. And what was lovely about the ownership was that they supported her entrepreneurship at age 17. That'sexactly the type of community business leader that we need somebody who genuinely cares about the people in her community. Read more
