The food is good but the man working (I?m assuming the owner) is always rude. We?ve been a few times and his attitude is just... a turn off. Even though we like the food we have decided to take our business to other bbq spots in the area. Read more

I telephoned this afternoon to place an order for takeout in about 15 minutes. The Green Chile with Mac and Cheese, half pound... of beef brisket, and half pound of pulled pork, with one of each barbecue sauce. Absolutely delicious and I?ll return often!Thank you! =) Read more

Tin Star Smokehouse is amazing! Had the brisket, pulled pork, rib tips, hush puppies, pickles, and chili mac and cheese with a... variety of house made sauces. All the meat is dry rubbed and smoked on site with a combination of mesquite and fruit wood. Thismeans you can taste the smoke up front while being left with a sweet finish that highlights the flavor of the rub. The saucescompliment various meats beautifully, although the rib tips were succulent all on their own. The meat was perfect; neitherovercooked nor greasy. The hush puppies are the best we?ve had outside of KY. And they make their own lemonade! The owners arefriendly and passionate about what they do; great service, atmosphere, and flavor. Don?t let the location dissuade you; it?swell worth it to stop and try. Over and over and over again! Read more

Can't help it but I like this place. I guess it's kind of cozy in a man-cave sort of way. They carry local brews and since... they're (you'd think I'd ask if the guy doing everything is the owner and his name) not having dine-in let your creativity comeout and find someplace to have the repast. For me knowing Golden a bit I chose this little known greenbelt at Camp George West'sbackyard shared with NREL. Quiet, few people and my spot. Don't you dare come to my spot without TIN STAR BBQ. Supporting localis too easy with good food like this. The Groupon was an added incentive. Tin Star supports local breweries with GCB, GoldenCity Brewery, being one of them. I should go to GCB to review them (great outdoor tasting room especially appealing to theoutdoorsy in Winter). Oh those rabbit trails?? Any way... oh yeah I hope the pics turned out. They are my idea of BYOcreativity. Read more

Delicious! Ordered the Big Tex brisket sandwich with a side of the campfire beans and added the green Chile Mac and cheese.... Tasted the pulled chicken, coleslaw, sweet potato tater tots, and Texas toast. Hit the spot! My favorite was definitely thebrisket, home made pickles and the green Chile Mac and cheese. Also, all of their sauces are great! Read more

Pulled Pork tasted too smokey. Kinda tasted too much like the wood they used for smoking it. Their BBQ sauce and sweet tea are... just ok. They make up for their meat with their sides. Hush puppies, Mac and cheese and beans are really good. Sides give themthe 3rd star. I'd recommend Moe's BBQ that's also close instead. Read more

GREAT BBQ! The outside might make you wonder, however, it's what's on the inside that counts. The smokey goodness is permeated... throughout the meats with the right amount of smoke. Hatch Chillis mixed into a couple sides gives it a unique flavor with theright amount of heat. Don't pass this one by, you'll be sorry if you do. Trust this local guide, it could compete with the bestin St Louis. Read more
