My sisters and I stayed in a Chalet for 2 nights for a little getaway. The Chalet was clean and comfortable. The view was... amazing! We ate at the restaurant when they were serving pub fare and had the best hamburger I've ever eaten! But the bestthing about this place was service from the waitstaff to the owner everyone was very pleasant. Zach went above and beyond tohelp us out when we were in need. My husband and I had our wedding reception here a few weeks ago. The staff hustled hard and the food was really good! We had a... buffet, and there was tons of food to go around! Whoever is running the kitchen absolutely knows what they are doing. They lastminute changed a beer choice for us, let us set up the day before (our wedding was on a Wednesday!) and fixed a few issues wehad with the venue in time for the reception. The dance floor was awesome (tons of fun!), and the view was really nice.Although we didn't actually get married at the location, our guests really enjoyed the sunset and being able to go outside afterdinner and enjoy the beach. We have not visited here in 6 years and wanted to give it a shot. When we arrived we were asked if we had a reservation and we... advised that we did not, we were walked to our table and I explained we had not been there in 6 years should we have made areservation, she rudely told me uh yeah we turn people away. I can understand if it was busy but it was myself and my husband,another table of 2 and a table of 6. There was plenty of seating available. When I asked to see the menu waitress was rude andsaid we only do buffet here. I said oh no worries do you serve French toast and the waitress told me no. When I went up to thebuffet I was surprised to find French toast. My partner and I each had one plate as the food was disgusting. The table of 6complained how bad it was. Our waitress didn?t ask how it was just asked are you done and then got the debit machine. A smallcup of ?coffee? was $5 extra on top of the buffet price. Our whole family came here for our niece?s wedding and it was incredible, the food was fantastic, our rooms were spotless, and... the service by all of the employees were immaculate. Even the cleaning crew were fantastic and very friendly to all of us.Everyone is very friendly. The meal for the wedding was unbelievable and we gave the chef a standing ovation at the end of thenight. Prices are absolutely excellent, and you get everything you pay for and more. we will definitely be supporting thisbusiness and telling everyone about it. The Sands on Golden Lake? offers an Asian meets Local Ottawa Valley Pad Thai. The chef sources local vegetables and the peanut... sauce is homemade. No cheap MSG sauces in this dish. It?s full of local fresh grilled vegetables on top of glass noodles. Thedish is suited for those who eat clean and don?t like added food additives. Highly recommend! Overall the menu is exceptionaland it?s about time the area had gourmet food at a reasonable price point. The owners are pretty cool as well - a mom and herson, his wife and their baby girl. Stayed here for 3 nights and had an amazing stay!!! The rooms were so comfortable with an amazing view of the lake. From check... in to check out the front desk staff were friendly and very helpful!! We had dinner twice, lunch once and breakfast three timesat the resturant and each time the food was delicious. All the servers we had were very pleasant and accommodating!! We have already stayed here twice and just booked our third trip for September! We have always felt so welcome during our stay.... I held my wedding at Sands in September and I don?t have one negative thing to say about them. Lexi was beyond amazing helping... me get all the planning set for the wedding and answered all my millions of questions promptly leading up to the date. Zach wasamazing and really impressed all my guests with his friendliness and bar service. I was stressed about the new ticketing systemfor the bar but it ran so smoothly. The food was delicious, I still have friends and family talking about it. They were soaccommodating, very clean and on schedule. I couldn?t have asked for a better wedding and the venue was absolutely breathtaking. They truly outdid themselves and I?m so thankful, I didn?t want the weekend to end. We plan on going back for our oneyear anniversary. Read more
