From Lansing, would drive to grand haven in a heartbeat for an awesome breakfast at Morning Star Cafe. Some Mexican inspiration... offers delicious options along with so many other unique dishes. Great coffee. Busy on weekends, worth it. Order a coffee whileyou wait for a table and enjoy a beautiful morning! Read more

Morningstar has always been my local favorite breakfast stop. It?s nice to go on a weekday and avoid the weekend rush. Plan for... a wait on weekends, but it?s nice they do a ?virtual? wait list where you can walk around a bit and pass the time waiting foryour text that your table is available. Their menu has Southwestern options in addition to your usual breakfast fare. I?vealways found my meal to be fresh and tasty. I like seeing what new stuff they come up with for specials each day. Also, thecoffee? always so good. Check it out! We always take out of town family who want to go out for breakfast. Never disappoints. Read more

Morning Star is the best breakfast/brunch food in Grand Haven! Everything is so fresh and well-prepared. And the service is... excellent! There is often a wait, especially on weekends (expect 15-45 min wait), but it is worth it. Oh and the cinnamon rolesare amazing, but so avoid them out of avoiding sugar and excess carbs ? but well worth a try every once in a while. Read more

Great experience. We went on a Wednesday morning and had about a 15 minute wait. Once we got sat we had excellent service very... attentive, the menu is huge and full of amazing goodies which makes it very hard to choose. We went with huevos rancherostraverse City pancakes and blueberry oatmeal. All of the helpings were large and very flavorful. The staff was very friendly andhelpful and the food came out relatively quick. Our bill was about $32, but we only had water. If there was anything negativeto say about the place it would be that they don't have an expresso machine so you're limited to normal coffee. Read more

There was a twenty minute wait, but I passed the time at the independent book store next door. The food was good, not amazing... but good. The service was the high point as the wait staff are very personable, even during super busy times. I also enjoyedthat they had several different coffee roasts to choose from. They even gave me coffee to go! Read more

Really excellent breakfast food run mostly by local kids. the service can be a little slow and they get very busy during... weekends on the summer. they have more seating than they can effectively serve at once. but the food is great and i highlyrecommend going on weekdays or non peak season. I also recommend browsing the locally owned bookstore next door while waitingfor your table. one of my favorite things is their generosity with drinks. they love bringing you to go cups to take coffeewith you when you leave and will bring carafes of drinks if you need refills.
