This was my first visit to El Granjero and I really enjoyed it. It was nice seeing a lot of vegetarian options, but they were... not vegan as a lot of cheese was involved. The salsa made in house was very good. Cactus was featured in quite a few of thedishes. We had tried the nachos, torta, wet burrito, and vegetable combo. The interior was very clean and the furnishings areutilitarian. The staff was very nice and had a pleasant attitude even though it was kind of busy. The food came out reasonablyquick. We'll be back! My friends and I love this little restaurant. The food is always delicious and very filling. Usually I get the lunch special... with quesadillas (you get to choose your protein, and I typically get one chicken and one steak 'cause they're both so good).Today I had one of my other favorites, their nachos. Again, you get to choose your protein and I prefer the old standby ofground beef. I have to say that in addition to being very tasty, they are also the prettiest nachos I've ever eaten. Read more
Don't let "low key" Mexican Restaurant deter you, the food here is the real deal. El Granjero Mexican Grill serves great drinks... and food in a modest setting. Delicious food, although the periodic shortage of tamales can leave ones taste buds wanting. Read more

This has become our restaurant of choice on the West side of Grand Rapids. I love that the wait staff have always been either... young Latinas or Latinos. Additionally, they have some of the best authentic Mexican fare I have had in a GR restaurant. Theservice has always been excellent and very friendly. The menu has a wide assortment of items and the prices are very reasonable. Read more
