I've always love Hopcat but I've never been to Grand Rapids, it was an excellent place to check out! The elote queso dip was... cheesy and rich, with nice fresh chips! My friend got their turkey wrap with seasoned fries and it did not disappoint! I orderedthe mac 'n cheese with grilled chicken and was pleasantly surprised by the velvety smooth sauce and perfectly seasoned chicken!They were pretty packed when we arrived, but with open seating at the bar we got our food and drinks quickly! Stopped in before an event downtown. We sat at the bar, bartenders are friendly & attentive. Large beer selection. I had a cosmo... & it was very strong with lime, not bad but I ordered a 2nd hoping it was an accident & it was the same. Burger & fries we?re onpoint! Fantastic, I?m in love with the fries! We got boneless wings and honestly you could tell they were old. Dry, hard & chewybreading. The wings is the only real disappointment. Overall it was pretty good! I would go back. Read more
Decent vegan options and great happy hour specials - $3 beers, wells, and wine. Attractive cook that will deliver you vegan... fries. The ambience is traditional bar with woodwork and funky art. Always good. They got a long list of draft beers so highly recommend the bar just to try to drink something new. Took a chance... and got the grilled cheese, and it was a solid choice. First time visiting. Had outdoor seating with friends and ordered the cucumber cooler, the Cowboy DBL burger, and the BBQ... chicken Cobb salad. I was hesitant with the cooler but it tasted pretty good. The burger was spicy which I loved but I will saythe bun felt a bit crunchy. Only down side is our food took a long time to come out but it was understandable for a large partyand a backed up kitchen. I?d come back to try some other options on their menu. Read more
